Mark your calendars and tenderize your heart meat.
On October 4th, 2025, Venus, our planet of wealth and worth, will align with the karmic south node
in the purifying sign of Virgo.
“This conjunction is far more than a simple celestial meet-up; it is a powerful cosmic invitation to release, refine, and ultimately heal,” Hong Kong-based certified counselor and award-winning astrologist Letao Wang told The Post.
The lunar nodes are not planets or celestial bodies, but rather two calculated points that lie between the Sun’s ecliptic and the Moon’s orbit, representing the soul’s evolutionary path.
The position of the nodes changes signs, cycling through the entire zodiac every 19 years. The axis, or zodiac polarity, that the nodes fall in corresponds to the annual phases of the solar and lunar eclipses.
“The South Node symbolizes our past — the ingrained habits, innate talents, and karmic patterns we bring into this lifetime. It is our comfort zone, the familiar but often outgrown behaviors we default to,” shared Wang.
“Spiritually, it represents what we are meant to learn from and eventually release to progress on our journey toward the North Node’s destiny. It is the cocoon we must break free from to become the butterfly.”
Meanwhile, Venus, named for the goddess of love, rules attraction, attachment, assets and aesthetics.
“Venus governs all matters of the heart and harmony. It rules our romantic relationships, friendships, and social connections. Essentially, Venus asks, ‘What — and who — do I love?’ It highlights how we attract and appreciate others and the world around us,” Wang said.
He explained that when Venus conjoins the South Node in Virgo, themes of love, value, and karma are worked through with the holy trinity of Virgo’s modality of analysis, service, and purity.
This conjunction provides us all an opportunity to adopt Virgo’s discerning/improving energy and take a hard look at our past financial and relationship choices — and adjust/release/cease accordingly.
“The South Node represents our past habits and karmic patterns. When Venus conjoins this point, we are collectively confronted with old relational dynamics. You may notice a tendency to attract critical partners or fall into a familiar habit of overextending yourself for others without reciprocation. A feeling of being misunderstood or on a different wavelength from a partner is also common under this influence.”
Wang suggests taking a personal inventory by asking the following key questions:
- Am I trying to “fix” my partner?
- Am I crossing my own boundaries in an attempt to control how love flows?
“This is not a time for new beginnings or grand romantic gestures. Instead, it is a potent moment to consciously let go of what no longer serves your highest good,” explained Wang.
Given the influence of Virgo, we may be called to release an outdated duty or obligation, surrender the tendency to try and control others through caregiving and curb the habit of criticizing our partners in the hopes that it will motivate them to change.
“The lesson is to move from criticism to compassionate discernment. This same energy of karmic reassessment extends to our general social connections, sisterhood, and our relationship with money and possessions,” Wang told The Post
“You might feel compelled to re-evaluate a financial arrangement from the past or examine long-held beliefs about your own worthiness concerning income and stability.”
Wang notes that we need to be extra cautious during this period because Venus is in her fall in the sign of Virgo, meaning the planet cannot easily express its prowess.
“Harmony, love, and ease are challenged by Virgo’s analytical and perfectionist nature,” said Wang. “This can create a tendency to love through criticism or find value only in flawless utility.”
If it sounds mechanical, merciless and punishing, it is, but it doesn’t have to be. The key to progressing instead of regressing is to operate from a place of consciousness and the present tense. The past is a shackle, perfection is a trap and duty is the death of desire, folks.
“Before letting yourself run on autopilot, a conscious reassessment is crucial. Ask yourself: Are my financial choices based on current value or an old scarcity mindset? Are my social commitments born of genuine connection or a sense of duty? This deliberate pause allows you to break the automatic patterns of the South Node and choose a more conscious path forward,” Wang advised.
