The iconic Twitter bird sign that used to adorn the company’s old San Francisco headquarters before Elon Musk’s rebrand and gutting of the company was sold at an auction for nearly $35,000.
The logo, affectionately nicknamed “Larry” after the Boston Celtics player Larry Bird, served as one of the most recognizable company mascots for Twitter’s 16 years before the social media platform was sold in 2022 to Musk, who renamed it X.
RR Auction, which deals in “rare and collectible items” said the gargantuan sign sold for $34,375 after bidding ended last week.
It actually undersold its estimated worth of $40,000, according to the auction website.
The heavyweight fowl weighs approximately 560 pounds and measures a staggering 12 feet by 9 feet.
The auction company did not name a buyer. The Post reached out to inquire about where the proceeds may be going.
X’s billionaire CEO has previously auctioned off a slew of other items relating to Twitter as he picked through the graveyard of the old office, ranging from other signs to kitchenware and old furniture.
RR Auction’s collection consists of anything ranging from footage of JFK’s assassination to even old New York Post front pages.
Since 2022, the auction company has sold 53 objects directly related to Elon Musk, primarily consisting of things that he’s signed like photos of himself and dollar bills.
