President Trump yanked Secret Service protection for ex-Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the federal agency confirmed Monday evening.
Mayorkas, who was the face of the previous White House’s lenient stance on illegal immigration, initially had his taxpayer-provided security detail extended for six months by then-President Biden before it was cut short by Trump this week.
The Secret Service would have been with Mayorkas through mid-July if it wasn’t scrapped.
“Per executive memorandum of the President, the protective detail for former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been discontinued,” a Secret Service spokesperson told The Post.
“To ensure the integrity of our operations, we cannot comment on the specifics of our protective means and methods”
Mayorkas is the latest Biden-era figure to lose security after the ex-president’s two adult children, Hunter and Ashley Biden, lost their details last week.
Anthony Fauci, the retired director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, also lost his Secret Service agents earlier this month at the direction of Trump.
Trump has also removed protection that was afforded to his former secretary of state during his first term, Mike Pompeo, and ex-national security advisor John Bolton amid threats on their lives from Iran.
The Secret Service was notified Friday that Mayorkas was losing his protection, the Washington Post reported.
Trump shared a headline on Truth Social Monday about revoking the Secret Service protection.
An email to the White House was not immediately returned.
