President Trump plans to attend Sunday’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, becoming the first sitting commander in chief to attend America’s biggest annual sporting event, The Post has learned.
The planned presence of Trump, 78, at the Caesars Superdome was first reported by Punchbowl News.
While former presidents have attended the game, none have done so while in office.
Trump’s attendance will necessitate an extra layer of security, with the game taking place 39 days after an ISIS-inspired terrorist drove a truck through crowds celebrating New Year’s Eve on Bourbon Street, killing 14 people and injuring dozens more.
