President Trump arrived at the US Open to watch the men’s tennis finals Sunday.

The president appeared in a suite at Queen’s Arthur Ashe Stadium just before the men’s singles championship match was due to kick off at 2 p.m.

He was greeted by cheers in the luxury seats around his box where he was watching the event.

Trump’s arrival was met with quick controversy, after the United States Tennis Association (USTA) advised broadcasters not to televise any boos or cheers the president might receive from the crowd.

“We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity, including ENG (Electronic News Gathering) coverage,” the USTA advised.

Trump was heavily booed at his last US Open appearance in 2015.
