Travis Kelce can’t wait to be the ultimate wife guy!
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, addressed the public reaction to his engagement to Taylor Swift for the first time on the new episode of his “New Heights” podcast, sweetly gushing over his new fiancée.
“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something, and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on,” Travis said in a preview of the Wednesday, September 3, episode of “New Heights,” shared via the podcast’s official X account.
The NFL star added, “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
Also in the clip, Travis’ brother and cohost, Jason Kelce, led a round of applause for Travis and Swift, also 35, calling their engagement announcement the “Instagram post heard ‘round the world.”
Travis and Swift announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on August 26, sharing pictures from their romantic moment at a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a couple of weeks earlier.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the couple captioned pictures of the moment Travis got down on one knee to propose to the “Fortnight” singer.
Travis proposed with an old mine brilliant cut diamond ring set on a gold band, which was designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry.
Jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia estimated the ring to be worth $950,000 to $1,270,000. “The stone itself looks to be easily in the 7–10 carat range, which immediately places it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings,” Rakholia told Us Weekly.
Jason, 37, previously shared his reaction to the big news at the top of the Wednesday, August 27, episode of “New Heights.”
“There is one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves,” he said. “We did record this podcast on Monday, which is Travis’ one day off. So he is not here to address this himself, but we felt it necessary as a team here at ‘New Heights’ to get together and send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged. The proposal heard ’round the world. F*** yeah!”
During an appearance on the Tuesday, September 2, episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, the retired Philadelphia Eagles center said he hopes that Travis brother will enlist him as his best man at his wedding.
“Hopefully I’m the best man. We’ll see. Trav has a lot of friends,” Jason said. “I’m just hoping to get the opportunity.”
