The Pitt‘s Taylor Dearden and Supriya Ganesh had very different wishes for their respective characters in season 3.

While speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the Actor Awards, Dearden, 33, teased where her character Mel ends up, saying, “Without revealing too much, hopefully there’s more of a friendship for Mel that develops in season 2. And then hopefully we see what a friendship with Mel looks like in season 3. That’s what I’m always going for — friends for Mel.”

Ganesh, 28, who plays Samira, was a bit more cryptic.

“It’s up to the writers. Let’s see where they end up taking her,” she teased. “I think we left her in a really interesting spot. I’m really curious where she ends up going.”

Before the show took home two awards on Sunday, March 1, Ganesh praised how The Pitt prioritizes accuracy.

“I have some background in medicine and I read for a lot of South Asian doctors as a Brown woman. I’ve read almost every medical script in the past three to four years,” she noted. “So when I got The Pitt, I was like, ‘Oh, this is actually medically accurate.’”

She continued: “I didn’t need to turn off that part of my brain. I read it and I was like, ‘This is gonna be a hit.’ Because it’s so I’ve never seen anything, I never read anything this realistic.”

The Pitt, which premiered on HBO Max in January 2025, follows a group of employees at a fictional Pittsburgh hospital’s ER working a single 15-hour shift. It didn’t take long for Us to fall in love with the entire cast including Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle), Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball), Dana (Katherine LaNasa), Dr. Mohan (Ganesh), Dr. Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif), Dr. King (Dearden), Dr. Santos (Isa Briones), Whitaker (Gerran Howell) and Javadi (Shabana Azeez).

After returning for season 2 earlier this year, the medical drama has already scored itself another renewal. The cast, meanwhile, has been enjoying the break before returning to set again.

“It’s such an intense shoot, and we’re pretty much just in the studio for eight months straight,” Dearden told Us. “So there’s so many things that get neglected in my life — and a lot of things like housework and basic stuff. It’s just like putting on my work clothes and going outside for most of it. I need the sun.”

New episodes of The Pitt premiere on HBO Max every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
