Technically, yes. But if you go that route, you may want to wait. Prime Video does offer a 30-day free trial for new users, but since there will be new episodes of The Boys weekly through May 20, 2026, it’s better to wait until we’re within a month of that date.
What Happened in ‘The Boys’ Season 4?
Butcher had less than a year to live after his repeated use of Compound V24 to give himself superpowers. Most of the Boys openly distrusted Butcher, but Hughie helped keep him in the loop. The team was obsessed with killing Victoria Neuman, the woman who secretly arranged to keep her powers hidden thanks to Homelander. Victoria was also the Vice President-elect, and the Boys were afraid of what would happen if she took the office.
As Butcher’s mental facilities failed him, he hallucinated his old friend Joe Kessler and engineered a plot to kill every superperson. Butcher also tried to convince Homelander’s son, Ryan, to take a stand against his father, Homelander. Instead, Ryan broke away from him. Feeling betrayed, Butcher merged with Kessler’s persona and gained tentacle powers.
Butcher subsequently murdered Neuman and played right into Homeland’s plan. Now, all of the Boys except Butcher and Starlight have been arrested and charged as terrorists. And without the Boys, no one was left to prevent Homelander from ensuring that he could now control everything. Homelander also learned that his father, Soldier Boy, is still alive.
What’s Going to Happen in ‘The Boys’ Season 5?
Events are building to a showdown between Homelander and the Boys. Homelander has the Seven, the will of the people and the full power of the United States government. The Boys have each other, but that may not be enough anymore.
Is There a Trailer for ‘The Boys’ Season 5?
Yes, and it reveals that Butcher has reunited the Boys and presumably liberated them from prison. It also demonstrates that Homelander’s new goal is to achieve immortality. He’s also attempting to bond with his father, Soldier Boy, and enlist his help against Starlight and the Boys.
How Many Episodes Are There in ‘The Boys’ Season 5?
There are eight episodes in The Boys season 5. After the first two episodes drop on April 8, one episode will be released weekly every Wednesday until May 20.
