Taylor Swift is clearly putting her football knowledge, courtesy of boyfriend Travis Kelce, to use during The Eras Tour.

During her Friday, October 25, concert in New Orleans, Swift, 34, subtly tweaked her “Midnight Rain” choreography. When she sang, “He never thinks of me / except when I’m on TV,” the pop star pantomimed throwing a football. (During the dance break, Swift switches up her moves, sometimes pretending to do archery, making a heart with her hands or even mimicking Kelce’s touchdown dances.)

Swift, of course, has been in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce, 35, since summer 2023. In that time period, she started attending many of his NFL games.

“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift gushed in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year profile. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”

Not only is Swift rooting for the Chiefs — and changed her “Karma” lyrics back in November 2023 for a subtle shout-out in “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” replacing “Karma is the guy on the screen”  — but she’s also been learning the oft-confusing game rules.

“She’s the most famous person in the world, and then she’s really interested in football. She asked a lot of great questions,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said during an NBC interview in August. “She’s already drawing up plays.”

Kelce later explained that none of the Swift-derived plays have “gotten to Coach [Andy] Reid” just yet.

“If they ever do, I’ll make sure everyone knows it was her creation,” Kelce quipped during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show last month. “She’s a little biased and just creates plays for me, so we’ll see if they can make it to Coach Reid’s office.”

According to Kelce, his girlfriend’s musical skills helped her learn the game.

“I think what makes her so good at her profession is that she’s so detailed in every aspect of it — from the words to the music to, you know, even the releases and the music videos and everything,” he gushed. “She’s so detailed and a part of it that I think she was just curious about the profession.”

While Swift did not confirm whether her “Midnight Rain” moves on Friday was intended to reference Kelce or one of the plays she drew up, fans deduced a theory as to why she busted it out at her first of three Louisiana shows.

“This is the stadium where the Super Bowl will take place,” one fan wrote via X.
“She literally just sealed the Chiefs win with that tayvoodoo in NOLA.”

Super Bowl LIX will be held on February 9, 2025, at the New Orleans Saints’ Caesars Superdome. The Chiefs are the defending champs, hoping to clinch a third consecutive Lombardi Trophy this upcoming winter.
