Taylor Frankie Paul’s mom, Liann May, alluded to “times of hardship” in a cryptic social media post amid the domestic violence allegations made against her daughter.

“Today, outside reading some scriptures and a ladybug landed at that moment on top of me,” Liann wrote via her Instagram Story over a photo of a ladybug on her hand on Tuesday, March 24. “In times of hardship, subtle revelations sometimes appear — small symbols that carry meaning & remind us we are not alone.”

Alongside the text, Liann added a screenshot of a bible verse as well as a breakdown of the symbolism behind ladybugs.

“Ladybugs are universally seen as carriers of good luck. Their presence is believed to bring prosperity and abundance,” the explanation read, adding that they also symbolize “renewal and new beginnings in one’s life.”

Liann tagged Taylor, 31, and her sister, Aspyn.

Liann’s post comes amid reports that Taylor is being investigated over claims of a third domestic violence incident. NBC News reported on Wednesday, March 25, that the West Jordan Police Department in Utah is exploring allegations made against the reality star by her ex Dakota Mortensen following an alleged domestic dispute in 2024.

Taylor and Dakota, 33, were allegedly involved in a separate domestic altercation in February. Amid an investigation into allegations made by both parties, Dakota was awarded temporary custody of their son, Ever, 2, as well as a temporary protective order against Taylor. (Taylor also shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul.)

A 2023 altercation between the former couple has also resurfaced in recent days after TMZ released video footage of Taylor throwing chairs at Dakota. The incident resulted in Taylor being arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse and criminal mischief. She pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault as part of a plea deal to get the other charges dropped. The charge will be downgraded to a misdemeanor if Taylor follows the terms of her deal for three years.

Taylor’s rep responded to the footage being released in a statement to TMZ.

“It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child,” the spokesperson said on Thursday, March 19. “Releasing an old and selectively edited video on their son’s birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior.”

Along with the footage of the altercation, TMZ has released two hours’ worth of police bodycam footage from the night of her arrest. At one point during the investigation at her home, Taylor spoke with her parents about what happened.

“I’m being arrested, I guess for pushing Dakota,” Taylor told them, to which Liann replied, “Yeah, that’s domestic violence.”

Taylor responded, “He pushed me too into that wooden thing right there.”

Liann later said, “She is not like that, that’s why it’s so crazy. She is not confrontational at all.”

In the aftermath of the footage being released, ABC announced its decision to cancel Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette, which was set to premiere on Sunday, March 22.
