Tamar Braxton is on the road to recovery after experiencing a frightening injury.
“I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can’t even really talk anymore I’m so weak,” Braxton, 48, wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 19. “I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury.”
Since the initial injuries, Braxton — who shares son Logan, 12, with ex Vincent Herbert — said she is facing further complications with her mental and physical health.
“As the days go by, the worse it is,” she continued. “I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility.”
According to the Caught in the Act: Double Life host, the incident has reshaped the way she looks at life around her.
“The way I look at life now is totally different,” she explained. “As my health is on the mend, my mental journey begins. Pray for me for real. I don’t even know what happened to me.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Braxton’s rep for further comment.
Before sharing a health update, Braxton also posted a quote from the Instagram account Trust God Bro that stated: “Thank you God for waking me up today.”
Braxton has been open with fans about her health struggles over the years. Recently, the reality star joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey to discuss their experiences with Uterine fibroids.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Uterine fibroids are common growths of the uterus and are not cancerous.
“It would be to the point where I would feel nauseous,” Braxton shared with ABC News on August 11. “Couldn’t get out of bed and I would be exhausted and the exhaustion came from having extreme anemia.”
In 2015, Braxton also had to drop out of Dancing With the Stars due to health reasons. Doctors discovered the contestant had blood clots and said she couldn’t continue competing in the ABC show.
Regardless of any recent health struggles, Braxton recently filmed season 2 of The Braxtons, with her extended family, including Toni, Towanda and Trina Braxton. New episodes are expected to premiere this fall on We TV.
Tamar also recently expressed her wishes to get back onstage to sing.
“I missing the stage today…..💔,” she wrote via Instagram on Saturday, August 16. “This is the longest time that we have been apart. I think it’s time for another #tamartiantour when the album comes out 😏 see ya soon 🍀✨🫶🏽.”
