A stranger sprayed a mystery substance in the face of a 25-year-old woman and her baby daughter on board a Queens train Friday, cops said.

The young mom was riding a southbound M train approaching the Court Square-23rd Street station with her 11-month-old daughter around 11 a.m. when a man approached and asked to use her cell phone, police sources said.

When the woman refused, the man unleashed an unidentified substance — initially believed to be pepper spray — into her face and on her arm, authorities and sources said.

Some stray liquid ended up in the infant’s face and on her arm as well, cops said.

Both mother and daughter were taken to Mount Sinai Queens, where they were listed in stable condition.

The assailant, described as having a slim build and wearing a black sweatshirt, took off after the attack.

He had not been caught hours later.
