Seal is especially proud of his and Heidi Klum’s son Henry making his mark on the Paris Fashion Week runway.

“Listen, I am proud of anything they do. If Henry was sweeping the streets, but he was passionate about it, I would be just as proud as seeing him walk down a catwalk,” Seal, 61, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, February 5, while promoting his Mountain Dew Super Bowl LIX commercial. “The thing that I always tell them is that, ‘The point of life is to be happy. Find something you love and do it with all your heart and if it makes you happy, then do it.’”

He added, “If that is sweeping the streets, and I mean that literally. If that’s what made him happy, I would wake up each morning to see him do it.”

Seal and Klum’s 19-year-old son opened the Lena Erziak Haute Couture Show late last month in a black suit with a dramatic open back. Later during the show, Henry donned another suit with an oversized scarf.

The “Kiss From a Rose” singer and Klum, 51, were married from 2005 to 2014, later welcoming sons Henry and Johan, as well as daughter Lou. Seal also adopted Klum’s eldest daughter, Leni, from a previous relationship.  (Klum has since married guitarist Tom Kaulitz, while Seal has been in a relationship with Laura Strayer since 2021.)

While Seal is happy that both Henry and Leni, 20, have found a passion for modeling, he has never persuaded them to follow in their famous parents’ footsteps and join the entertainment industry.

“I encourage them to follow what they love — whether it’s in my footsteps [or not],” Seal told Us. “I mean, I don’t have that ego like that where I have to see my kids follow in my footsteps or their mother’s footsteps. That’s not the point of it. The point is to find what they love and do it with every cell of their body.”

The musician continued, “That’s what I did with music. I wasn’t following in anyone’s footsteps. I just happened to find this thing that I loved that I couldn’t live without. And then the success was a byproduct of that.”

Seal is now bringing his musical pursuits to the 2025 Super Bowl, starring in Mountain Dew’s “Kiss From a Lime” ad campaign that will debut during the big game on Sunday, February 9. In the commercial, Seal will parody his 1987 hit, “Kiss From a Rose,” alongside pop star Becky G.

“I’m in the fortunate position of having a song that most people know in some capacity or other,” Seal told Us. “It was fun and I like the Mountain Dew Baha Blast [drink] and therefore it seemed like a no-brainer. It’s all done with a touch of humor [and] it’s meant to be entertainment; it’s meant to be funny. It gives me a chance to poke fun at myself and laughter is a valuable commodity these days.”
