Sandra Bullock had a witchy good time out and about with Practical Magic costar Joey King.

King, who is set to portray Bullock’s daughter in the upcoming sequel Practical Magic 2, took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 10, to share a sweet photo of the twosome jumping for joy and laughing while attending a Coldplay concert in London last month.

Bullock wore a fitted grey off the shoulder long sleeve blouse with black jeans for the event, with her dark tresses pinned half up in loose waves. King also kept it casual in a white T-shirt and jeans, her hair dyed red for the film.

“🪄 💞 mamacita,” she captioned the sweet post.

Bullock, 61, starred alongside Nicole Kidman in the original 1998 film as Sally and Gillian Owens, respectively. Based on the series of novels by Alice Hoffman, the story follows the sisters — who are descendants of a long lineage of witches — as they are raised by their aunts after their parents are killed by a family curse. When Sally accidentally kills Gillian’s abusive boyfriend, the pair are forced to tap into their powers to destroy his evil spirit before he takes them both down forever.

The WB announced in July 2024 that a long awaited sequel was in the works, with Susanne Bier serving as director and a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, who cowrote the first film. While most of the plot has been kept under wraps, the sequel will center on “a multi generational family of witches, cursed to be loveless for centuries, attempts to break the spell by confronting dark secrets and sacrificing for each other,” per an official logline.

King, 26, was announced as part of the new cast in May alongside Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Sally McLead. It was revealed two months later that Stockard Channing and Dianne West would reprise their roles as Sally and Gillian’s aunts.

“Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny flew off the pages of Alice Hoffman’s beloved novel and into theaters around the world, and we are thrilled to bring the Owens family back to the big screen with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly and Xolo joining the next chapter in our story,” the filmmakers behind the movie said in a statement at the time. “The enduring affection for these characters has been our inspiration to deliver the next installment in the Owens’ story to new fans, and those who’ve been with us since the beginning.”

While speaking to Variety earlier this year, Kidman, 58, gushed over the “beautiful” King joining the ranks of the Owens witches after the twosome worked together on 2024’s A Family Affair.

She told the outlet: “It’s a group of amazing, amazing women and some great men who are creating the next phase, the next stage of the witches’ life.”

One original cast member who won’t be returning is Evan Rachel Wood, who portrayed one of Bullock’s daughters in the first movie. Wood, 37, addressed her absence in the sequel in July, claiming she was open to return to the franchise but ultimately was not asked back.

“I am getting asked about this a lot, so I’ll just clear it up now,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories. “I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.”

A first look at the project was released by Kidman earlier this summer via Instagram. The clip featured the costars hugging and smiling as “action” was called on their first scene. “The witches are back ✨ Owens sisters’ first day on set!” Kidman captioned the post.
