The Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola is opening up about her relationship with her estranged sister.

“So, the status with my sister is great,” Alexia, 58, exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month while attending the Page Six Virtual Reali-Tea “VRT Awards” at City Winery in Chicago.

“I actually had dinner with her Monday night,” she continued. “We had a beautiful, wonderful time. You know, when you have that sister bond — which I always have had with her — we see each other and it’s like nothing happened, you know? Just, like, sometimes you have a good friend like that.”

She continued, “You know, it’s really unfortunate because I truly did need her, and I felt like, after she saw the suffering that I had, she’s gonna accept me for, like, who I am. That’s all I wanted. I just didn’t want her to, like, judge me. I feel like I’m always being judged and it hurts, like, when it’s from your sister. But yeah, we’re great. We’re doing great.”

Navigating the ups and downs of her relationship with her sister gave Alexia an opportunity to better connect with and understand her fellow castmate, Stephanie Shojaee, who is dealing with her own family turmoil.

“I felt like Stephanie and I did have a connection, because we both had something in common,” she explained to us. “We’re two different people, you know?

Stephanie, 40, is famously estranged from her two twin sisters, and has openly discussed their fractured relationship.

She continued, “I have my own brain. I’m different from [my sister] in many ways. I can still love her, and I can still be great with her, but we are different people and I love that individuality. I have my own thoughts. So with Stephanie — same thing. I just hope that she can reconcile with her sisters, because I know that she’s hurting and we all need our sisters in our life.”

During the RHOM After Show following the season 7 finale, Stephanie revealed that one of her two identical twin sisters had reached out after the pair had been estranged for some time.

“There’s communication,” she said at the time, especially while she was caring for her daughter’s black schnauzer. “So, I do report back maybe once a week, and I send pictures, and she writes back, like, ‘He looks so happy; You’re such a great mom.’”

Her other sister, however, has been “completely M.I.A. from her life.”

“I don’t have her telephone number, I don’t have her address. I don’t have any of her contact information,” she explained at the time. “Her emails all bounced, so she’s off the map.”
