Here kitty, kitty.
For a devoted pet owner, there’s nothing worse than a fur baby getting lost. This one UK woman thankfully found her astray kitty cat — but where she found her was the shocking part.
Late last year, Sophie Carty’s worst nightmare came true — her cat Luna went missing. As any pet parent would do, Carty spent many tiring hours searching for Luna with no luck, according to The Independent.
She even took to various Facebook groups to post about Luna’s absence.
After several months, the 25-year-old was convinced she would never be reunited with her feline again.
However, last month she received what ended up being the best — and most surprising — news she could get.
It turned out that Luna survived living on her own for all those months.
The unfortunate part was that she was found in the gardens of a hotel — in Scotland. 2-year-old Luna managed to travel over 300 miles away from her home in Darlington.
Thankfully, upon being discovered, she was taken to a vet’s office who called Carty — since Luna was microchipped.
“I was inconsolable and asked where she was, that’s when the vet told me she was in Inverness in Scotland,” the pet owner told the outlet.
In a Facebook group, Carty shared the good news: “I don’t know how she managed to venture up to the top of the country but she is doing well despite being very skinny.”
“I couldn’t believe it, that was around a six-hour drive from where Luna went missing. We traveled the long journey to collect her and brought her home,” she said in her interview.
Considering what Luna endured during those long months, Carty shared that it took some time to get her back to her normal self: “On her first couple of nights home, Luna was in a very bad way, very tired and looked to be paralyzed on her back end.”
“However, after a trip to the vets, antibiotics and painkillers, she is like a new cat.”
“She is up and moving (with assistance) and is happy to be home with us. She’s getting loads of cuddles and attention, which she isn’t complaining about,” Carty explained.
To wrap her head around what happened to her cat, Carty imagines that Luna wanted to take a little vacation for herself.
“We may never know how she managed to end up there, if only they could speak.”
