The twisted Louisiana mayor who had sex with her son’s 16-year-old best friend at a booze-filled pool party was blasted by her then-husband as being “cold-blooded” and an “alcoholic, cheating SOB.”
Misty Roberts, 43, and her now-ex, Duncan Clanton, traded a spate of heated text messages around their bitter divorce in May 2022, when she was still the first female mayor of DeRidder, according to court filings obtained by The Sun.
“You really are cold-blooded,” Clanton said in one angry text just months after the divorce docs were first lodged.
“Just wanted you to know what a real piece of s–t you really are!” he added.
Elsewhere, the estranged husband alluded to claims Roberts had been cheating on him — branding her a “cheating SOB [son of a bitchh].”
“Funny how you call me psychotic and you were the one who left me for a cop or a damn dirt contractor!” he raged.
“An alcoholic, cheating SOB! And you blame me around every corner for that. No telling how long you’ve been with that f–k as much as you’ve been to baseball games. Y’all are a perfect match.”
“You’ve never looked in the mirror and it shows how truly shallow you are. I’ll admit in the short term it has been extremely hard to move on but in the long term it will be a different story. Have fun living your propped-up life!” he continued.
The couple’s divorce was finally finalized in mid 2023.
Clanton, who shares two kids with Roberts, was among those who ended up testifying against the ex-mayor during her recent sex crimes trial.
The mother of two was found guilty Tuesday on charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile after she was busted having sex with the teen boy at a booze-fueled pool party for her own son’s birthday in 2024.
The then-mayor — clad for the occasion in an orange bikini — flirted openly with the teen and posed for creepy photos with him during the party, before luring him to the home’s “bonus room,” stripping and having sex with the boy, according to court docs and witness testimony.
Roberts, who will have to register as a sex offender, is due to be sentenced on April 17.
She had been DeRidder’s first female mayor when she was elected in 2018 under her married name, Misty Clanton. She resigned in July 2024 after initially being charged with third-degree rape.
