There have been so many near-naked looks on the red carpet lately that it’s actually more of a surprise when a star keeps their nipples covered — but Paris Jackson is fighting back against critics who objected to the sheer dress she wore at Paris Fashion Week.

Jackson, 26, wore the black, off-the-shoulder style to Stella McCartney’s show in the French capital on Wednesday, March 5, but according to the star, not everyone was a fan.

Taking to TikTok over the weekend, the model said she had received “a lot of mixed reviews with my choice of clothing” and “a good amount of flack” — but said she didn’t see what the big deal was.

“I would like to point out that everyone’s entitled to their own opinions,” she said. “And we’re animals. At one point, we abided by the laws of nature. There was a harmony [that] worked really well for the planet until one day, humans decided we’re not animals, we’re going to wear clothes and we’re gonna rule over all the other animals. And a segregation was born and spoiler alert, that’s why s— got really bad.”

Jackson added that she wants her followers to be more comfortable with their bodies too. “You’ve got one, I’ve got one, it’s OK,” she said. “There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just a human body. Let’s do something for the environment, man, let’s do something for the planet, man. Stop freaking out about nipples, man!”

Still, Jackson’s annoyance over the reaction to her supposedly outrageous outfit didn’t seem to have stopped her from having a great time in the city she was named after. She also shared a photo gallery via Instagram from her glamorous trip, featuring numerous striking looks by designers including McCartney, Vivienne Westwood and Chloé.

Paris has long been a special place for the daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. In December 2024, she took a romantic trip there to celebrate her engagement to music producer Justin Long (no relation to the actor of the same name). “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and I couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with,” she wrote at the time. “Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.”

Jackson isn’t the only star who’s recently rolled their eyes at the reaction they received for daring to bare. Singer Charli XCX also clapped back at critics who objected to her sheer look at the Brit Awards in London, saying “I feel like we’re in the era of free the nipple though, right?”
