He had one job.

An NYPD cop in charge of keeping tabs on a loony hunk who took two boats for a joyride while completely naked was suspended without pay for falling asleep on the job.

The unnamed officer was stationed at Columbia University Irving Medical Center to keep an eye on Stephen Blasetti, the 36-year-old nut charged with grand larceny for allegedly pulling off the watery theft at the Dyckman Street Marina on Saturday while in the buff.

According to police, Blasetti finally got dressed, putting on a lab coat and blue hospital pants around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and slipped out of the hospital — still shoeless.

“The incident is under review,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “The officer involved is currently suspended without pay.”

Meanwhile, police are on the lookout for Blasetti, who apparently travels light.

The fit-looking fugitive got into hot water when he stripped off his clothes and jumped into a dinghy sailboat at the marina around noon on Saturday after getting kicked out for acting erratically, police said.

With NYPD Harbor Patrol and Aviation Unit on his tail, Blasetti allegedly jumped ship and got into a larger catamaran anchored in the river — where he was eventually arrested.

Law enforcement sources said cops believe the sea-fearing nudist was high on methamphetamines at the time, and was taken to the hospital for observation.
