Unlike other stars, Noah Wyle opted not to wear a designer suit at the 2025 Emmy Awards.
Wyle, 54, opened up about his one-of-a-kind ensemble on the red carpet, where stars gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14.
“We were in New York at the Gotham Awards and I was wearing a tuxedo and someone asked me if it’s as comfortable as the scrubs I wear at work,” he told Entertainment Tonight, referencing The Pitt, in which Wyle plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch.
He then recalled looking into the camera at the Gotham Awards and challenged the scrubs brand Figs to make him a tux “as comfortable” as his character’s onscreen uniform.
Wyle added that the brand “went and did it” just in time for the Emmys. His custom-made suit — that is not available for sale — featured a navy blue blazer with darker lapels, a matching bowtie, a white dress shirt and coordinating pants. He made sure to reveal the brand’s inner collar embroidery, which read “Awesome Human,” a.k.a. their slogan.
“Tonight, Noah is proving that the health care community deserves a seat at every table, including television’s biggest night,” FIGS CEO and cofounder Trina Spear shared in a statement. “By honoring health care workers, Noah’s commitment to authentically representing these extraordinary individuals on the red carpet embodies everything FIGS stands for … We thank Noah for championing health care workers and their stories through his art.”
During the awards show, Wyle took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his part in The Pitt. (Other nominees were Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Pedro Pascal and Adam Scott.)
When Wyle accepted the award, he made sure to give a shout-out to healthcare workers.
“First of all, to my fellow nominees, just having my name included in your company is the honor of a lifetime,” he said. “And most of all, if anybody is going on shift tonight or coming off shift tonight, thank you for being in that job. This is for you.”
On the red carpet, Wyle posed with his wife, Sara Wells, who stunned in a white beaded dress complete with a strapless neckline, a corset bodice and a column skirt.
She enhanced her look with diamond earrings and a matching necklace and bracelets. For glam, she donned a full beat including dewy skin, rosy cheeks, long lashes and lined lips. Her blonde pixie cut was parted to the side.
