Did they get lost?
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi raised eyebrows when she appeared alongside her venture capitalist husband Paul at Sunday night’s Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
The 85-year-old Democrat, who is retiring from Congress when her term ends in January 2027, posed on the red carpet for snaps with her tuxedo-clad spouse, also 85.
But the elderly San Francisco couple’s appearance at the shindig held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art left scores of social media users baffled.
“Who sent her an invitation?” one Facebook user scoffed.
“Why is she there?” another chimed in.
“Who paid for her to go?” a third bewildered user said.
Pelosi described the Academy Awards as “wonderful” before rambling about the importance of the arts.
“We needed this very much tonight,” she told USA Today.
“It’s a time when the arts have a stronger role than ever to bring us all together to laugh, to cry, to be inspired, and the rest, and to see the excellence of it all.”
Some users wasted no time in labeling the speaker emerita “crazy Nancy” – a nickname that President Trump has used to attack the senior Democrat – after a clip of her remarks was shared online.
One even joked that she deserved an Academy Award for being the biggest hypocrite.
Pelosi and her hubby mingled with “I Love LA” star Rachel Sennott and “Industry” actress Myha’la at the bash, according to Vanity Fair.
It’s not the first time Pelosi has attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
She and Paul attended the shindig in March 2023 – less than five months after he was attacked in their California home by David DePape. DePape is currently serving life without parole in the vicious hammer attack.
