An Iowa convenience store was the setting for an incredible scene that unfolded last month and involved a naked woman who police allege went on a destructive frenzy that resulted in thousands of dollars in damage.

Business as usual at Casey’s General Store in Mason City was interrupted back on December 19, when a stark-naked Cheri Rae Decker waltzed in. According to local reports, she was covered in blood.

Decker, 32, entered the store that morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. and started to knock over a shelving unit, which caused several bottles to smash against the ground. When an employee walked up to her in an attempt to calm her down, she allegedly pushed the worker. Decker next started hurling various items at the store’s staff, according to the reports, including those from KIMT News 3 and Radio Iowa.

Police claim Decker’s wild rampage also resulted in tarnished consumable items. Her blood splashed onto some of the store’s product’s packaging, requiring their destruction.

The reports indicate there was so much blood in the store, it was forced to close due to the hazardous conditions. A professional cleaning was hired to clean the business.

None of the reports, however, indicate if Decker was covered in her own blood or someone else’s — and if the latter, whose blood.

All told, the bloody nude rampage cost the store’s owners more than $10,000. That amount includes an estimate of lost sales the store would have made if otherwise open.

According to the reports, police said Decker allegedly slapped someone inside the store, actually causing an injury and breaking the victim’s glasses.

Decker was arrested on a felony first-degree criminal mischief charge. She’s also been charged with assault causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct. She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for first-degree criminal mischief and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

It was unclear what led to the filing of those outstanding charges. Mason City investigators could not be reached for additional information.

Decker posted a $6,000 bond for her release. Us Weekly tried contacting Decker for comment but was unable to reach her by phone or through social media.

It was unclear if Decker had appeared before a judge to enter pleas to the charges. Information on her lawyer, assuming she has one, was also unavailable.

In October 2025, Casey’s General Store was named in a class action lawsuit that alleged the chain overcharges customers by advertising in-store discounts that are not actually applied to purchases at the cash register. Attorney Kit Mason said that multiple receipts, including one dated July 10, 2025, confirm the suit’s claims.

As an example, Mason told the Globe Express of Mason City a client purchased two Four Loko alcoholic drinks that had been advertised as two for $4. The receipt shows he was charged $7 for both of them. Casey’s corporate told the Globe Express they were “aware of the allegations and intend to vigorously defend against them. We will respond formally through the legal process.”
