Mirror, mirror on the wall — who has the most whimsical name of them all?
A mother from the UK named her daughter after the Disney princess, Snow White — which has caused many people to raise their eyebrows.
Despite being a mom to three sons already, Lisa Morphy, 45, always dreamed of having a little girl. When she finally got the chance, she let her son Teddy pick the name — Snow White.
“We knew she’d be our little princess. When my son suggested we call her Snow White, I thought it was amazing,” Morphy told SWNS.
While the Morphy family is enamored with the five-year-old daughter’s name — unfortunately, not everyone feels the same way.
The mom of four revealed that airport check-ins with her daughter “can be hard,” and she often notices that “people turn around or whisper” when she calls the unusual name in public.
Morphy said she was swarmed with warnings and criticism from others: “Everyone thought I was mad,” she confessed.
The mom stressed, “but I don’t care.” She insisted that her daughter loves her name, and that’s what matters most.
In addition to the outside haters, Morphy expressed that her parents and in-laws also weren’t convinced of Snow White’s name.
“The older generation didn’t really get it,” she said. Morphy explained that the five-year-old’s grandparents thought the young girl would “be bullied” for her unusual moniker.
Thankfully, little Snow White isn’t one bit worried: “She loves it — if people call her Snow, she corrects them and she tells everyone how she’s a princess,” the mom said.
“Not everyone understands it, but we’ve raised her to be proud of her name and she’s very confident in who she is,” the mom explained.
Little Snow White is already acting like “a princess in a house full of boys” — she makes her 16-year-old brother William “carry her down the stairs in the morning,” the mom shared.
Fittingly, the Morphy family introduced Snow White to her namesake at a young age — and she now has a Snow White-themed bedroom, along with a collection of costumes.
Despite Disney’s live-action “Snow White” film starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot facing harsh reviews and flop allegations since its release last week, one little moviegoer is still eager to watch.
Morphy pointed out that her youngest is thrilled for their family outing to see the fantasy flick next week, and knows her name is anything but make believe.
