Burger King and McDonald’s are fighting for chicken nugget dominance.

The two competing chains have both rolled out their newest take on the poultry pieces. Burger King dropped its latest version after the King said it listened to its royal subjects, while McDonald’s reintroduced its spicy chicken nuggets.

Both have also added sauces for dunking enthusiasts to slurp up their newest creation.

Foodies can make a chicken nugget smorgasbord and try both as the brands have launched their takes on the fan favorite today. The rivals have a habit of launching similar menu items on the same day — duking it out for diners.

Here’s what customers can expect from the dueling dishes.

Burger King CEO, Tom Curtis, previously told The Post the chicken nuggets needed a revamp and he was the man for the job. “We can do better and we will. I want a meatier, crispier nugget and sauces that make my taste buds dance,” Curtis said.

His Royal Highness said the nuggets weren’t delivering as Curtis claims the company received thousands of calls from guests who were calling them “rubbery,” “dry” and “disappointing.” The brand then went back to the kitchen to “rethink every element.”

Burger King said every aspect of the item has changed — the chicken, breading and sauces. In fact, customers can now dunk the new and improved bites into a brand new, tasty Special Savory Sauce.

The limited-time condiment is a mixture of creamy, tangy and lightly spicy flavors that combine a hint of BBQ seasoning with ketchup, garlic, onion and black pepper.

The fast food giant dropped a selection of revamped sauces for fans to choose from: Honey Mustard, Buffalo and Sweet & Sour.

Its Honey Mustard is now a richer, creamier take on the classic made with mustard and honey, balancing the sweet and tangy flavor. Meanwhile, the new Buffalo sauce has a cayenne pepper sauce with buttery richness and savory garlic notes.

The new Sweet & Sour is a brighter, more balanced take on the classic with sweet pineapple flavor and tangy notes.

Spicy lovers can head to McDonald’s for the fan-favorite fiery chicken nuggets as the chain reintroduced a delicious duo — Spicy Chicken McNuggets and the Mighty Hot Sauce.

The nuggets were last seen on menus in 2024 and are breaded with a “sizzling tempura coating” made with both cayenne and chili peppers. McDonald’s said the favorite “packed plenty of flavor and spice into each bite.”

The star of the show, however, is its Mighty Hot Sauce as fans have been waiting five long years for its return. The sauce packs a powerful punch — crushed red pepper and cayenne peppers, with savory garlic and a hint of sweetness.

McDonald’s said it’s the hottest available dipping sauce and its first new sauce since 2017.
