Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen enjoyed a chic sibling date night during New York Fashion Week.

Mary-Kate and Ashley, both 39, stepped out in style at W magazine and Bloomingdale’s NYFW cocktail reception on Thursday, September 11, held at Eleven Madison Park in Manhattan.

Mary-Kate wore a gray blouse over a pair of black trousers, which accentuated her multicolored, pattern scarf around her shoulders. Ashley, for her part, opted for a pair of jeans with an oversized black coat and a pale green scarf wrapped around her neck.

During the bash, the twins posed with W editor Sara Moonves, who dressed chicly in a black, mock-turtleneck dress with silver statement jewelry.

Thursday’s gathering also featured a DJ set from Mark Ronson and a menu crafted by Eleven Madison Park’s chef, Daniel Humm.

While Mary-Kate and Ashley have been household names since they shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House, they’ve since taken a step back from acting and the spotlight while focusing on running their fashion labels.

“We were raised to be discreet people,” Mary-Kate told i-D magazine in June 2021. “I think we’re very much perfectionists. We’re hard workers and we’ve always been hard workers.”

She continued, “I think the reason we do fashion is to constantly try to fix our imperfections. And you have next season to do that. But it’s also our job to find every imperfection in there to make sure that we’re constantly pushing ourselves and training our eyes and making sure everyone is served. Just evolving and learning.”

Together, Mary-Kate and Ashley head up their Elizabeth & James and The Row brands.

“We like working together and we like having that dialogue. I think it helps harden your ideas to be able to hear them out loud, to speak something through,” Ashley told the magazine at the time. “You know, we definitely go by intuition and instinct and it can either confirm that feeling, or if we’re both not feeling right about something, for some reason, we just don’t do it. Our instincts are kind of the same. But I think what’s great is that we have each other to lean on.”

A source later told Us Weekly that the former child stars now prefer working on their businesses instead of making public appearances.

“They’re homebodies who would rather go over line sheets for The Row than be out on the town,” the insider told Us in a July 2024 cover story. “They’re extremely cautious of who they let in and what they divulge in public.”
