June Shannon, aka Mama June, found herself hospitalized just hours after a psychic warned her she could potentially suffer heart problems.

The scary episode was featured in the Friday, July 25, episode of Mama June: Family in Crisis. While visiting a psychic with her daughter Jessica Shannon and her husband Justin Shroud, June, 45, was told she’s been carrying a lot of stress and, as a result, has “lost a lot of her health.”

The psychic also warned June “may have a heart attack.”

June, who was experiencing an unidentified pain at the time, was encouraged to go to the hospital by Justin, but she refused. She eventually changed her mind as the pain intensified, and was ultimately diagnosed with ovarian cysts.

While most ovarian cysts pose no threat, larger cysts can rupture — an event that the Mayo Clinic has noted “can cause serious symptoms,” such as dull and sharp pelvic pain, vomiting, fever, and signs of shock. Some ruptured ovarian cysts can require surgery.

June spoke exclusively to Us Weekly in May about the changes she’s made in regards to her health. She noted that she’s been off weight loss injections since December 2024 and, as a result, has maintained a weight between 194 and 197 pounds ever since.

“Not judging anyone who’s on the weight loss shot because if you are then it’s fine, but I don’t take the weight loss shot anymore due to the fact that it is a stepping stone, but it’s not a fix-all, be-all,” she said. “You have to make it a lifestyle change. So I made the lifestyle changes, and I know I can move forward with the lifestyle changes.”

The reality TV matriarch previously underwent a gastric sleeve surgery in 2015, but gained 100 pounds back years later and turned to semaglutide injections as a way to manage her weight. June admitted she didn’t plan to stop taking the injections until she went on a 10-day road trip without them.

“I left my medication at home and realized in 10 days I could do without it,” she explained. “I didn’t get back on it.”

June is facing other health problems, too, including a “surprise” hysterectomy and a few challenges she didn’t share at the time of the interview. “I’m still dealing with health issues now,” she said. “We’re not releasing [it] to the public until we get all the answers.”
