Louisiana State University football player Jaiden Tyrese “JT” Lindsey turned himself in to university police after allegedly harboring two murder suspects in his dorm room.

Lindsey, a freshman at LSU, surrendered on Friday, August 8, and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

An arrest warrant was issued for Lindsey earlier this month after he was accused of allowing two of his hometown friends to stay in his dorm after they were accused of second-degree murder.

The suspects, Shemell Jacobs and Keldrick Jordan, were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in the Riverbend Building of the Nicholson Gateway dormitory on August 4, according to local news station WAFB-TV.

The teenagers were wanted in the shooting and death of Corey Brooks, which took place in their hometown of Alexandria, Louisiana, in May. Brooks was 17 when he was killed, while his suspected murderers, Jacobs and Jordan, are 17 and 18, respectively.

Lindsey, meanwhile, was arrested on Friday on charges of two felony counts of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder for his alleged role in hiding Jacobs and Jordan on campus.

The murder suspects were allegedly staying at Lindsey’s on-campus apartment for nearly two weeks, according to the news station. When they were arrested by the marshals, multiple guns were found in the residence, per the outlet.

Lindsey’s attorney, meanwhile, has maintained his innocence.

“My client JT Lindsey has been arrested on allegations of ‘accessory after the fact’ for allowing two individuals, ages 17 and 18, who unbeknownst to him, were wanted in Alexandria, to stay at his LSU apartment for a couple of nights beginning on or around July 24th,” his lawyer, Kris Perret, told WAFB-TV.

Perret continued: “It is alleged that the two individuals were wanted for crimes they are accused of committing in mid-May of 2025 in Alexandria, Louisiana. There are no allegations that JT Lindsey was in any way involved in, or in any way connected to the alleged crimes of the arrested individuals.”

“JT Lindsey is adamant that he is innocent of any alleged criminal misconduct and any allegations of wrongdoing against him,” the football player’s legal representative alleged. “He is fully cooperating with authorities and looks forward to clearing his name as quickly as possible.”

The lawyer claimed that her client was “unaware that the individuals arrested had committed any crimes or that they had been accused of any crimes, or that they were wanted by the police for questioning when he allowed them to stay at his apartment.”

Lindsey’s attorney alleged, “Had he known that the individuals were accused of any crimes or wanted by the police, he would not have allowed them into his apartment or associated with them in any manner.”

The statement concluded: “Furthermore, at no time did JT Lindsey do anything, nor take any actions, nor demonstrate any intent whatsoever to harbor, conceal or aid either of the accused and now arrested persons to avoid arrest, apprehension, trial, conviction or punishment for their crimes. He is glad that these individuals were taken into custody by authorities without incident.”

Lindsey has since been released from prison after posting a $5,000 bond. His attorney later confirmed that LSU told Lindsey that he was temporarily suspended from all football activities until the case is resolved.

LSU Athletics Communication Director Michael Bonnette reportedly issued a Friday statement on behalf of the Athletics Department, saying, “We are aware and won’t have any comment out of respect for the legal process,” according to WAFB-TV.
