Lamar Odom is in some hot water with the landlord of his current Los Angeles residence.
The former NBA player, 45, has been ordered to evict his L.A. home after failing to pay $45,000 in rent, according to the New York Post. In a lawsuit filed in March, the sublessor of the California property claimed they and Odom had made a verbal agreement in December 2024 that the athlete would pay $15,000 a month to rent the home. However, Executive Recovery Group, Inc. claimed Odom did not pay his rent from January 1 of this year through March 31.
The property’s sublessor left Odom several notices about the rent, including one giving him three days to pay or move out on March 11, per the New York Post. Executive Recovery Group, Inc. reportedly mailed a rent notice to Odom, noting that he owed a total of $45,000. Additionally, the company sent an “election of forfeiture” informing Odom of the termination of his lease agreement.
After Odom allegedly did not respond to the lawsuit, Executive Recovery Group, Inc. was granted possession of the property and officially ordered him to vacate the home. (Us Weekly has reached out to Odom’s reps for comment.)
Amid Odom’s real estate drama, he reunited with his ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, on a February episode of The Kardashians. The pair tied the knot in 2009 before calling it quits four years later. Kardashian, 40, put their divorce on hold to help Odom after he went into a coma following a 2015 overdose. She refiled for divorce in 2016, and the split was finalized a few months later.
“Lamar was and is definitely someone that I felt was the love of my life,” Kardashian, 40, told cameras of her ex. “I got married when I was 24, and although him and I got married 30 days to the day we met, I loved him with all of my heart and soul.”
On the show, Odom greeted his former spouse with cake, flowers and champagne but was nearly an hour late, something Kardashian called out. “I don’t know this person anymore. It is just a mindf***,” she said in a confessional. “He is visibly uncomfortable, he’s nervous, he’s sweating. I don’t know what he thinks about me, like, if I’m gonna go off on him. He just seems scared.”
Following the awkward encounter, Odom asked Kardashian for a hug. “I took you through a lot. … I f***ed up with you. I love you for trying your hardest with me. That love, I don’t think it’ll ever go away. I know it won’t,” Odom stated.
Kardashian opened up about the onscreen reunion on an April episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, noting that what was a 20-minute conversation on the show was actually a four-hour talk IRL.
“Lamar and I have so much history. To not talk to someone in almost 10 years, and then to be around them, and I didn’t know what to expect,” she said. “I sort of blacked out, and it was just my trauma taking over, and this was me in autopilot, and how many things either he did or said that were triggering me to the old Lamar.”
Calling her marriage “one of the best chapters of my life,” Kardashian added that she thinks Odom was the “right person” at the “wrong time.” She added, “I have so much love for Lamar and in every relationship that I have. Like, I’m so grateful for them, even the worst of them.”
