Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp weren’t exactly thrilled to see their longtime friend and costar Dorit Kemsley file for divorce from PK Kemsley.

“I mean, I felt terrible,” Richards, 56, exclusively shared with Us Weekly at “An Unforgettable Evening” benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund on Monday, April 28. “I think we kind of knew that was coming, but I didn’t know that she was going to file. I felt like it was probably going in that direction, but I care about her and her family so this is sad.”

Although Richards had her differences with Dorit, 48, during the most recent season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she reached out to her costar after hearing the news.

“I texted her,” she said, “but I haven’t seen her.”

For Mellencamp — who appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with Dorit for several seasons before leaving the show full-time in 2020 — she also sent a message to her friend.

“My biggest piece of advice is don’t ask people to respond,” Mellencamp, 43, shared at The Beverly Hilton. “I sent her a voice note and just said, ‘Love you, thinking about you, don’t think you need to respond.’ I know it feels really devastating right now, but everything gets better and I don’t need a response. We’re good.”

On April 25, Dorit filed for divorce from PK, 57, nearly one year after announcing that they were taking some time apart.

In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Dorit cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the split. She is asking for sole legal and physical custody of the former couple’s children, son Jagger, 11, and daughter Phoenix, 9.

The divorce filing came one day after PK was photographed kissing The Amazing Race alum Shana Wall outside Cipriani’s in Beverly Hills, California.

“Dorit and PK had promised each other if they were to see other people, they would not be so public for the children’s sake,” a source explained to Us. “The divorce was already in the works and after the photos came out, she was ready to file.”

Another cast member who has offered her support to Dorit is Erika Jayne. Just hours after learning of her friend’s divorce, the “Pretty Mess” singer, 53, exclusively told Us that she privately reached out to Dorit.

“I literally just found out online like everyone else, maybe an hour ago, and, obviously, I reached out to her,” she told Us at the opening of The Tryst Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. “She’s got more important things to do than to talk to me right now.”

“How does anybody feel when they hear that a family’s broken up? You feel badly,” Jayne continued. “This is sad. It’s a sad thing.”
