Brittany Cartwright has a new man in her life amid her ongoing divorce from ex-husband Jax Taylor — and The Valley costar Kristen Doute “very much” approves of the new pairing.

“She has someone in her life that’s really amazing that I am head over heels for,” Doute, 42, told People at Narwal’s End of Summer Soirée on Thursday, August 21. “She’s dated people during her single years since her ex-husband, and I have not approved of them.”

She added, “They’ve been fine, but not wonderful. This person is very wonderful and very cool. [He has a] very family-feeling.”

Cartwright, 36, has not confirmed the identity of her new boyfriend, though People reported that the mystery man was the Bravo star’s date on Thursday.

“He’s a dad, so it makes it really easy,” Doute added.

Cartwright is also a parent, sharing 4-year-old son Cruz with Taylor, 46. Cartwright and Taylor got married in 2019 and separated in 2024. They have yet to finalize the proceedings.

“We both, like, didn’t send in all of our stuff at the right time,” Cartwright said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in July. “It’s a lot of stuff that happens, so October 15 is the new date and it’s going to happen.”

Since filing for divorce from Taylor, Cartwright has been candid about navigating her new normal as a single parent.

“My whole life on TV or in L.A. has been with him,” the Special Forces: World Toughest Test star exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2024. “So it’s a whole new journey for me, even filming-wise and living in L.A. … and being a single mom, it’s all going to be brand-new for me. It’s scary.”

According to Cartwright, Cruz, who was diagnosed with autism in April,  has been her “rock through everything” and motivated her to keep moving forward.

“He makes me so happy. I think I’ve just continued to get even closer to him throughout this whole thing. If I’m having a hard day, we will go jump in the pool or I’ll just give him a big hug,” Cartwright told Us of her son. “He’s what keeps me motivated and what keeps me on the right track and knowing that I’m making the right decisions.”

Cartwright and Taylor have since been focused on coparenting Cruz.

“I want Cruz to grow up with his dad in his life,” she told People in April. “So if [Jax] can stay consistent, I think that’s very important in coparenting.”
