Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s son Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr. has reportedly been released from jail.
TMZ reported on Tuesday, September 22, that the 15-year-old was released from the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Georgia within the last several days and is currently living with his mother, who has full-time care of him.
Us has reached out to KJ’s attorney and Zolciak’s rep for comment.
Earlier this month, a judge granted KJ bail and set it at $200,000, per court documents obtained by Us.
After posting bail, KJ will be required to wear an electronic ankle monitor under 24-hour house arrest. The judge’s ruling also prevents any other children 16 years old and under — including his own siblings — from staying at the home or visiting.
In addition to KJ, Zolciak, 48, and estranged husband Kroy, 41, share son Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, both 12. Kroy also adopted Zolciak’s eldest daughters from a previous relationship: Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24.
KJ’s bond conditions further require the teenager to attend high school classes virtually. He is not allowed to post on social media, use a cell phone and have any “direct or indirect contact” with his alleged victim, their family or close associates.
The former Don’t Be Tardy star was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, on August 17 for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sodomy after an alleged incident with an unidentified minor victim at a public gym earlier this year.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” Zolciak said in a statement to Us on August 21 after her son’s arrest made news. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.”
KJ’s attorney also released a statement claiming his client is not guilty of any charges.
“First and foremost, this is not the kind of information that should be for public dissemination. These are juveniles,” his attorney told Us on August 21. “Secondly, my client is 100 percent innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender polygrapher.”
The statement continued, “Additionally, the officer’s report notes the GBI [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] found no male DNA on or inside the areas the alleged victim claimed she was assaulted. Had the officer sat down with me, I feel certain she would’ve never made an arrest.”
Since KJ’s arrest, investigators have reportedly found evidence of KJ having sex with an underage relative.
According to Page Six, prosecutors revealed during KJ’s bond hearing that investigators allegedly discovered footage on KJ’s phone that showed him and an unidentified family member under the age of 12 engaging in sexual activity.
“The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case,” KJ’s lawyer told TMZ on September 11. “The matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers.”
KJ’s attorney went on to describe the video footage discovered by investigators as “more ridiculous, raunchy behavior” rather than anything illegal.
