Kim Kardashian turns 44 on October 21, 2024, and celebrated by taking to social media to unveil what she calls her “birthday suit.” Posting mirror selfies to her Instagram Story in the wee hours of Monday, October 21, she stunned in a semi-transparent naked dress that put her enviable curves on display.
Crafted by Diesel, the D-Rooney dress was a masterpiece of design, cut from gleaming latex fabric that appeared to meld seamlessly with Kardashian’s skin. A nipped-and-cinched bodysuit that was cleverly built into the dress further highlighted her famous hourglass figure, while the underwear-as-outerwear effect was very on-brand for the Skims founder.
Kardashian accentuated the plunging bra-top neckline with a near-blinding diamond cross pendant, which caught the flash of her iPhone camera. Cross accessories are something of a signature for the star, who has worn similar necklaces for memorable birthdays in the past.
After all, her ostensibly ungodly-sized jewelry collection includes many iconic religious pieces. Most notable is the late Princess Diana’s beloved purple amethyst-and-diamond Attallah cross pendant, which Kardashian bought at a Sotheby’s auction in January 2023 for $197,000. In 2022, she was gifted a $43,000 Dolce & Gabbana pendant with a black diamond cross set in gold. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana surprised her with it just before she opened their Spring 2023 show in Milan — which she also curated — exactly one month before her birthday.
She chose two looks to wear from the house to fête her 42nd birthday in 2022. On Friday, October 21, she threw a bash in Calabasas, California, in another naked dress. An archival sheer white lace slip from Dolce & Gabbana Spring 1999 with visible black lingerie underneath. True to form, she completed the outfit with a dazzling diamond-encrusted cross pendant again.
The next night, Kardashian and her posse made plans to keep the party going, hopping on a jet to Las Vegas to see Usher in concert. But her private plane was rerouted due to inclement weather. All dressed up and with nowhere to go, they resorted to Plan B (burgers at In-N-Out!).
She arrived in what was perhaps the most glamorous look ever seen underneath fluorescent lights at a fast-food joint: Dolce & Gabbana’s glittery bra top and matching pants, plus the aptly named ‘Kim’ choker with a giant cross pendant that would have been perfect for Sin City.
With her penchant for body-conscious naked dresses and barely-there bralettes — and always accented by a blinged-out cross necklace — her look for 2024 is just the latest proof Kardashian appears to be aging in reverse. And at 44, her version of a ‘birthday suit’ never looked better.
