Julia Fox sure knows how to make an entrance!
The actress and model, 35, stepped onto the red carpet at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Sunday, March 2, in a completely sheer Dilara Findikoglu dress that freed the nipple.
Fox was among the stars who descended upon the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, California, for the annual Oscars afterparty. The star turned heads in a sheer floor-length gown detailed with locks of wavy brown hair. The strands of hair strategically covered Fox’s crotch and part of her cleavage.
For the occasion, Fox wore her hair long, ditching her usual blonde look for a dark brown hairstyle. She let her locks fall loose in waves, complementing her dress. She finished off the look with a pair of champagne-colored heels.
Fox’s daring dress comes from the Dilara Findikoglu spring/summer 2023 collection.
The Uncut Gems star’s look comes just three months after she stepped out in another sheer Dilara Findikoglu design at the British Fashion Awards in London.
In December 2024, Fox wore a sheer white lace Dilara Findikoglu gown featuring a risqué corseted bodice to the fashion event.
In a December interview with The New York Times, Fox talked about how she feels like she doesn’t fit in with the other moms at her 4-year-old son Valentino’s school, due to her quirky sense of style.
“There will be times when I immediately go back to being that insecure 14-year-old girl,” she said. “On the first day of my kid’s new school, I pulled up in my freak attire — these distressed leather Knwls mules, a huge Vetements blazer and oversize Margiela basketball shorts — and I saw the other moms dressed normally. They were all looking and talking about me, and I reverted to being a young girl: ‘Oh, my God, they know. They’ve clocked that I’m different.’ I don’t feel that insecurity often as an adult, but I felt it very quickly there. I was like, ‘I’m going to have to blend in.’”
She added: “It’s not easier [to try] to be normal … eventually freaks are like, ‘I’m going to be myself and live my truth because I can’t pretend anymore.’ Pretending is draining; it’s exhausting; it’s depression. Being a freak’s not an easy thing, but it can be a very beautiful thing. That’s why I don’t get salty when people take inspiration from me. I want to guide more women, more queer people, to feel like, ‘Well, if she does it, I can too.’”
Fox wasn’t the only celebrity who opted for a sheer look Sunday. Stars including Kylie Jenner, Nikki Glaser and Olivia Wilde all adhered to this season’s hottest trend during Sunday’s Oscars and the various afterparties that followed.
