Joe Rogan says a slew of famous artists, musicians and even “f–king hippies” have reached out to privately thank him for endorsing now-President-elect Donald Trump — because they were too scared of being canceled to also publicly show their support.
The mega-popular podcaster claimed he received the praise for publicly backing the Republican because liberal-leaning personalities “can’t do it” over fears they would have been ridiculed for not supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
“There’s a lot of people that don’t speak their mind. Do you know how many artists that have reached out to me that are, like, f–king hippies, man, like artists, like musicians, comedians that thanked me for endorsing Trump because they can’t do it,” Rogan said during Wednesday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“They said they want to, but they don’t wanna be attacked. They can’t say it. They think the country is going in the wrong direction.”
Rogan, who didn’t name names, suggested elsewhere in the episode that many people now just throw their support behind a cause — even if they actually don’t believe in it.
“A lot of what people say, they say it because they don’t want people to attack them. They say it because they think that if they say it, it will clear them, they’ll be OK,” he said.
“If you say you support ‘x’ — you might not even support ‘x’ — but if you say you support ‘x,’ you’re not going to get attacked and the right people will leave you alone or agree with you, and appreciate you or praise you.”
The podcast host dropped his endorsement of Trump on the eve of the election — less than two weeks after interviewing the former president on his wildly popular podcast.
Rogan also tried to have Harris on his show, but it never happened because the Democrat’s campaign wouldn’t meet him at his studio and tried to impose a handful of ground rules.
