Jennifer Lopez always makes the best last-minute decisions when it comes to her wardrobe.
Lopez, 55, opened up about how she chooses her go-to outfits for big events ahead of hosting the 2025 American Music Awards on Monday, May 26.
“We started doing our fittings just yesterday and there’s so many things to choose from,” the singer told People days before the awards. “I don’t know what’s going to wind up on the show … it’ll be a lot of last-minute decisions, I think.”
Lopez explained that while she may not know what exactly she’s wearing, she still has a vision for events in the future.
“I work with my stylist and we kind of kick around ideas like, ‘What do we want it to be for the performance and what do we want it to be for the hosting and what’s our vibe?’” she said.. “For me, my feelings change from month to month, like, ‘Who do I want to be today?’ because I feel like there’s so many different sides to who I am fashion-wise.”
When it comes to quick changes, the actress always has help backstage to ensure everything runs smoothly.
This year, Lopez opted for a total of eight outfits at the AMAs. Styled by Rob Zangardi, she kicked off the night walking the red carpet in a sexy Defaïence dress featuring cutouts plunging past her navel and a thigh-high slit. Lopez’s first look was only a preview of what was to come when she hit the stage.
While performing, she changed into a sequin catsuit before slipping into a silver Miss Sohee halter dress and blue cape — proving that her fashion sense is effortlessly sultry.
She also stunned in a barely-there gold dress, a blue sequin number and a fringe skirt elsewhere during the show.
