Jason Kelce is asking his brother the important questions.
“Let’s start with what everyone wants to know,” Jason, 37, said in a preview of his Monday Night Countdown interview with Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid shared by his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast via Instagram on Monday, October 6. “Trav … when’s the wedding?”
Travis, who turned 36 on Sunday, October 5, laughed off his brother’s question and said an expletive before turning to his teammate and coach to add, “Get this guy out of here. I was wondering what he was gonna ask.”
Mahomes, 30, admitted with a laugh, “I didn’t know what was coming next.”
Travis got engaged to Taylor Swift in August after two years of dating. The pop star, 35, announced the news via Instagram by sharing photos from their gorgeous garden proposal.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” she captioned the post, which led with a snap of Travis looking up at Swift while down on one knee.
Since then, fans have been itching to find out when the couple will tie the knot.
While Travis didn’t appear to share any details about the wedding in his interview with Jason, a source exclusively told Us Weekly on September 19 that the nuptials were “likely” going to take place “early next year.”
“It’s still in the very early planning stages. There is no venue or location set yet,” the insider added, noting that Swift is “having so much fun researching venues and locations. She’s in the ideation phase and enjoying it because she’s so creative.”
As for what the “Opalite” singer will wear, the source said, “Nearly every major designer has reached out to offer to design her wedding gown. She has been so blown away and overwhelmed and flattered at the same time, but she hasn’t made a decision.”
The couple is also on the same page about wanting their wedding to be a more “intimate” affair.
“They don’t want to have a big, over-the-top wedding with a ton of people. It will be private with friends and family, not a ton of celebrities or random people,” the source continued. “It will be meaningful, and they will be surrounded by people who are special to them.”
The insider concluded, “Despite their celebrity, they are down-to-earth and normal. They aren’t the flashy people who want a $20 million fantasy wedding. She doesn’t want the pomp and circumstance.”
Swift herself also dished some wedding details during her October 3 appearance on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast, which coincided with the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. She revealed that she and Travis are planning a “destination wedding” but didn’t share the location. Additionally, Swift addressed the possibility that longtime friend Ed Sheeran might perform at the gathering.
“I mean, it would be hard to keep him from it, I think!” Swift said. “That’s the thing, he’s like, ‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings,’ and you’re like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage, you know that you’ll be on it!’”
Jason’s full conversation with Travis, Reid and Mahomes will be featured on Monday, October 6, on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, which airs from 6 to 8 p.m. ET ahead of the Chiefs-Jaguars game on Monday Night Football.
