A private investigator hired by the family of Amy Bradley, who vanished during a family trip aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship back in March 1998, said that he has identified two people of interest in connection with her disappearance.
The FBI is offering up to a $100,000 reward for any information leading to Bradley’s location, as well as information “that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her disappearance,” according to an agency alert.
Jim Carey, an investigator working for her loved ones, told Court TV that he is a part of an investigative team that has zeroed in on two people potentially linked to her disappearance. Carey said that the information has been shared with the FBI.
Bradley went missing at the age of 23 while she and her family were passengers on the Royal Caribbean ship Rhapsody of the Seas, according to the FBI. She would be 51 today.
The cruise ship set sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on March 21, 1998, and first traveled to Aruba, according to the agency’s alert on Bradley’s case.
On March 23, 1998, the ship left Aruba for Curacao, the FBI said. The next morning, on March 24, 1998, Bradley vanished.
The mysterious circumstances of her disappearance are the focus of the three-part Netflix documentary, Amy Bradley Is Missing, which premiered in 2025.
Four days after Bradley vanished, the Royal Caribbean cruise ship returned to San Juan, Puerto, following stops in St. Martin, and St. Thomas, according to the FBI.
Carey told Court TV that the two people he believes are potential suspects are a police clerk and a cab driver. Carey said that both individuals have said that they spotted Bradley since she went missing.
A website established by Bradley’s family in support of the search for her is being monitored for visitors and their IP addresses as part of investigative efforts, Carey said, Court TV reported.
Ari Mark, the director of “Amy Bradley is Missing,” recently told the Hollywood Reporter that he has been collaborating with the private investigator and that the FBI has spoken to “two people of interest who have trafficking ties” in relation to Bradley’s disappearance.
Brad Bradley, Amy’s brother, who has been a major advocate in the ongoing search for her, believes Amy is still alive, despite a 2010 legal declaration that she is dead, NewsNation reported.
While speaking with NewsNation in March, Brad said he has a “gut feeling” his sister is still out there.
“My parents and I have shared the same feeling ever since Day 1,” Brad said. “The hope doesn’t go away. As unrealistic as it may be to some people, it’s possible that she’s still alive and still out there.”
He has previously said that he and his family suspect Bradley was kidnapped from the cruise ship, according to the outlet.
Carey told Court TV that he believes a cruise ship band member removed Amy from the vessel.
On March 24, the 28th anniversary of when Amy vanished, Bradley wrote on X that her disappearance “feels like it was just yesterday somehow.”
The FBI encourages anyone with information on Amy’s disappearance to contact their local FBI office or the closest American embassy or consulate.
