More like Bling-apore Airlines.
A travel influencer named Antoine redefined “high roller” after forking over $14,000 to fly in one of Singapore Airlines’ first class suites, complete with a luxury bed, extensive storage and top-flight dining options. The high-roller detailed this alleged “pinnacle of first-class aviation” in a video with 10 million views on YouTube.
“It instantly set a new global benchmark for luxury air travel,” the content creator — known as @LoungeGuru on the platform — gushed in the clip’s caption.
Antoine, who was born in Canada but is based in Dubai, works in marketing but creates travel content as a “dedicated” side hustle, he told Newsweek.
For his latest expose, the jet setter decided to take a jaunt aboard Singapore Airline’s ultra-luxe A380 First Class Suite, on which he dropped $13,980 in cash without any aid from miles or points.
“It was, without a doubt, the most expensive ticket I have ever purchased,” exclaimed Antoine, observing: “The price you pay for these tickets is approximately $13,000…this is a standard retail fare for this cabin.”
Antoine didn’t divulge the route he took during his January jaunt, only disclosing that it allowed him access to the suite’s full service option.
In the clip, an air hostess is seen ushering the influencer up a flight of stairs to his palatial private suite, which comes complete with a sliding door for added privacy. He didn’t reveal the exact square footage of his accommodation, but each suite clocks in at between 50-54 square feet.
In the caption, Antoine dubbed the layout “spacious, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly quiet.”
Upon settling in, a different flight attendant stops by and offers him a choice of beverage (he chooses a smoothie) and presents him with plush pajamas, a “luxury skincare kit” and complimentary noise-cancelling Band & Olufsen headphones, which retail for hundreds of dollars on Amazon.
He then peruses the extensive menu options, which include several choices of caviar.
After ordering his super fancy in-flight meal, including a glass of $400 per bottle Cristal champagne, the luxury traveler kicks back and enjoys the super deluxe amenities.
These include personal storage compartments for his belongings, the most “advanced set of seat controls” he’d ever seen and two massive touch screens.
One of the centerpieces was the bathroom, which aboard Singapore Airlines, comes with a sit-down vanity and top-shelf Lalique furniture. Antoine said it felt like a “five-star spa at 38,000 feet.”
The YouTuber was incredibly impressed by the bed, describing to Newsweek as a “true bed with luxury bedding and comfy pillows and duvet, not just a reclining seat.”
However, the crew was the real highlight of the journey, per the flyer.
“From the moment I stepped onboard, the experience felt calm, intentional, and deeply personal,” Antoine gushed in the caption. “The crew presence was constant yet discreet, with two to three team members always nearby.”
He added, “requests were anticipated, not reacted to. I asked for a smoothie and it arrived almost immediately.”
Instead of simply handing him a menu like at a restaurant, the crew walked him through the selection “dish by dish” to help curate the “perfect dinner experience.”
Nonetheless, many viewers didn’t think the juice was worth the squeeze.
“$14,000 for a plane ticket, this is beyond wildness,” spluttered one critic, while another commented, “For that price i am stealing everything, including the TV.”
“I love how he considered the B&O headphones free after paying 14K,” remarked a third.
A fourth wrote, “There are just ppl living in a completely different world than 95% of us.”
In 2025, Singapore Airlines won the Skytrax award for the World’s Best Cabin Crew and World’s Best First Class.
