Ice-T has been a staple on Law & Order: SVU for decades, crossing paths with many famous guest stars along the way — including Sabrina Carpenter.

“[My daughter, Chanel] likes Carpenter,” Ice-T, 67, exclusively told Us Weekly while celebrating National Iced Tea Day with Raising Cane’s. “[She] was actually on Law & Order when she was a kid. I actually did scenes with her.”

Long before Carpenter, 26, became a Grammy-winning pop princess, she made her acting debut on SVU season 12, portraying a young victim of child pornography. Ice-T, for his part, stars as Detective Odafin Tutuola on the hit crime procedural, though he jokingly told Us that he remembers “nothing” about Carpenter’s cameo.

“I didn’t know who she was, but now they’re like, ‘You don’t know you were in a scene with Sabrina Carpenter?’ I’m like, ‘OK, cool. Got it, got it, got it.’ But now, she’s a superstar,” Ice-T added to Us. “Obviously, she was a great actress. Kevin Hart said it best, [whenever he’s] asked about his kids, how they feel about him being in any movies, he’s like, ‘They don’t care now. You bring a TikTokker in here, they lose their f***ing mind.”

Ice-T shares Chanel, 9, with wife Coco Austin, but the rapper mused that he won’t be able to play “cool dad” much longer.

“I don’t have any ins in her world,” he joked. “All my ins [are] already her uncles and aunts. I think we took her to see Olivia Rodrigo. She likes her [and] she likes Billie Eilish.”

Chanel’s unofficial aunts and uncles extend to Ice-T’s SVU costars as he’s been a part of the NBC cast for 26 years.

“It’s amazing because I went on the show to do four episodes,” he gushed to Us of the series’ milestone. “It just keeps giving, and every year we come out, we go through different changes. When Chris [Meloni] left, we didn’t know how we were going to recalibrate, and we’ve had so many different cast members, and the only two people that are there are me and Mariska [Hargitay]. For some reason, it just keeps coming back, and the fans just love the show. I just think the show is part entertainment, part therapy.”

In addition to his fan-favorite role on SVU, Ice-T is teaming up with Raising Cane’s in honor of National Iced Tea Day.

“I mean, the thing is with restaurants or any type of chain, it has to be good. I say you can only sell somebody a s*** sandwich once,” Ice-T joked of his partnership in a June press conference. “So no matter how much hype you put behind something, when you come in with someone’s restaurant, if it’s not good, you’re never going to go back. That word of mouth is what really translates across the board.”

He added, “So people heard about Cane’s, [and then] I heard about Raising Cane’s, and then they come in here and then that’s it. They’re coming back, you’re telling their friends because it’s so good.”
