ICE tactical units are gearing up to conduct raids in five Democrat-led cities as California Gov. Gavin Newsom held back tears while slamming President Trump for his “reckless deployment of American troops” in Los Angeles.

The tactical units are set to deploy into New York City, Philadelphia, Northern Virginia, Chicago, and Seattle, MSNBC reported.

A timeline of when the units are expected to enter the cities has not been revealed.

The Post has reached out to ICE for comment.

ICE raids have sparked chaos on the streets of downtown Los Angeles after protests quickly escalated into full-blown riots over the last five days.

On Saturday, the Trump administration deployed the National Guard and US Marines to help maintain order.

The city’s Democratic Mayor Karen Bass imposed a lockdown from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The report of the raids in other Dem-led cities comes as Newsom condemned Trump’s decisions during an emotional televised address on Tuesday night, where he likened the president’s actions to those of an “authoritarian” regime.

“Donald Trump, without consulting with California’s law enforcement leaders, commandeered 2,000 of our state’s National Guard members to deploy on our streets. Illegally, and for no reason,” the 40th governor of California said.

“This brazen abuse of power by a sitting President inflamed a combustible situation … putting our people, our officers, and the National Guard at risk. That’s when the downward spiral began. He doubled down on his dangerous National Guard deployment by fanning the flames even harder.”

Newsom then slammed the commander in chief for deploying “more than 700 active US Marines” into the city, who he claimed are exclusively “trained in foreign combat, not domestic law enforcement.”

“We honor their service. We honor their bravery. But we do not want our streets militarized by our own Armed Forces. Not in LA. Not in California. Not anywhere,” he said.

“If some of us can be snatched off the streets without a warrant, based only on suspicion or skin color, then none of us are safe. Authoritarian regimes begin by targeting people who are least able to defend themselves. But they do not stop there.”

“California may be first – but it clearly won’t end here. Other states are next.”

Newsom claimed Trump is “taking a wrecking ball to our founding fathers’ historic project.”

“There are no longer any checks and balances. Congress is nowhere to be found. Speaker Johnson has completely abdicated that responsibility. The rule of law has increasingly given way to the rule of Don,” he said.

“The founding fathers did not live and die to see this moment. It’s time for all of us to stand up.

“What Donald Trump wants most is your fealty. Your silence. To be complicit in this moment. Do NOT give in to him,” he concluded.

While the California governor sent most of his address attacking Trump, he pleaded with protesters not to turn to violence and claimed authorities have arrested “more than 370 people” who participated in “criminal behavior” and are actively looking to take more into custody.

“We’re reviewing tapes to build additional cases, and people will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Newsom and Trump have been lobbing attacks at each other since the weekend as Los Angeles has faced a mix of fiery protests, looting, vandalism, and clashes with police.

As law enforcement continues to try to get the chaos in the city under control, other parts of the US have begun to see an uptick in unrest, with anti-ICE protests sprouting up in New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Thousands of angry New Yorkers took to the streets near Foley Square in the shadow of City Hall to protest the Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportations ongoing in the city and throughout the country on Tuesday.

By nightfall, more than 80 demonstrators were taken into custody by the NYPD at several locations across downtown in the area surrounding Federal Plaza.

In Chicago, thousands of people marched downtown and eventually clashed with police, leading to several arrests, CBS News reported.

Anti-ICE protesters faced off against police in San Francisco Sunday night, injuring two officers and leading to more than 100 people being arrested, according to ABC 7.
