This woman’s confidence has dropped along with her weight.
A British mom who lost 84 pounds taking Mounjaro says she now feels “disgusting” and hates the way she looks naked.
Lucy Davies, who started using Mounjaro around a year ago, says excess skin on her body is making her feel insecure.
“Nothing’s toned,” she shared in a TikTok video. “This Mounjaro journey has been amazing and I don’t regret anything, but it’s come to a point now where I’m more unhappy with the way I look naked than when I was bigger.”
Davies says her frustration was made painfully clear during a family trip to Legoland.
While celebrating her son’s birthday, Lucy wore high-waisted shorts, a shirt and a vest top — but when the heat became unbearable, she removed her shirt for some relief only to find herself feeling worse.
“I felt comfortable six stone heavier than what I did yesterday,” Davies said. “And to be honest, it ruined the day for me.”
“I’ve never felt so disgusting in all my life,” she bluntly added.
Even though she had successfully dropped from a size 22 to a size 12, she was unhappier with her body than ever, and it took away from the fun of the festivities.
“I felt comfortable six stone heavier than what I did yesterday,” Davies said. “And to be honest, it ruined the day for me.”
This revelation is a shocking reminder of the emotional and mental challenges that accompany a physical transformation. Even though the mom got the results that she wanted on paper, her journey to self-acceptance is far from over.
“It just made me realize I’ve still got such a long way to go because yeah I’ve lost a lot of weight but I’m not happy,” she said.
Davies, who stays active by walking, has realized she needs to do more to feel good in her body.
“As much as I hate the gym, I think it’s actually time to get in the gym,” she said. “I really felt like crap all day yesterday and I don’t want to continue feeling like that.”
Sadly, body dysmorphia is a struggle many people experience after significant weight loss.
“Mounjaro doesn’t do the mental work of body transformation,” one person commented.
Someone else wrote: “I’ve lost around 8/9 stone over 2/3 years and I still hate my body. No one talks about the body dysmorphia after weight loss.”
“I still sit a cry on the floor. Body distortion doesn’t go what ever size you are,” a TikTokker commented.
Another said, “I’m the same after 13 stone off, no excess skin but my mind hasn’t caught up with my body, so I can’t see what everyone else sees. I was a size 24 and now a size 8, and I’m struggling with confidence.”
Many others also added on to the chain to warn that, often, excess skin has to be removed with surgery.
