A married high school football coach has been busted after a former student accused him of having sex with her for years — starting when she was a 16-year-old minor babysitting his kids.
Nicholas Alan Codutti, a 43-year-old father of two, was arrested on Saturday after the former student accused him of starting a relationship with her in 2018 when she was his student at Tomball High School, according to court documents obtained by Click2Houston.
Codutti was the girl’s strength and conditioning coach when he started sharing nude photos with her, the accuser told cops.
She then started babysitting for him and his wife at their home — where he allegedly started having sex with her when she was just 16, under the age of consent in the Lone Star State, which is 17.
He then had sex with her in several locations, including a coach’s office at the school and the weight room of a local gym, as well as trips off campus during lunch periods, according to the documents.
After their first alleged sexual intercourse in February 2019, the relationship continued until around September 2025, well into her adulthood. The accuser, now 24, came forwrd after telling all to a therapist, according to the docs.
Codutti was charged with felony indecency with a child and sexual performance by a child in connection with the alleged abuse.
He was booked into Harris County Jail with his bond set at $100,000 — $50,000 for each charge, records confirm.
He posted bond Sunday and was released ahead of a scheduled court appearance this week.
“We are asserting his innocence and denying the allegations as they are presented,” his attorney, Ryan Fremuth, told KPRC 2. “He denies that he ever sexually abused a child.”
He also asked reporters to “please respect their privacy so that his wife and children are not harmed by this experience,” KHOU11 reported, saying the coach was banned from schools and anywhere else children gather, with an exception for his own two children.
In January 2025, Codutti was named head football coach and campus athletic coordinator at Klein High School, where he worked until May, when the district placed him on administrative leave over the allegations.
“‘We have been notified that criminal charges have been accepted against him related to an alleged matter that occurred while he was employed in another school district, prior to joining and completely unrelated to Klein ISD,” district officials wrote in a letter to school families.
“Since we first learned of these allegations and informed Klein High staff and families in May 2026, Nick Codutti has remained on administrative leave and away from students. Upon receiving this information from law enforcement regarding criminal charges, his employment with Klein ISD was terminated.”
The district went on to note that before he was hired, Codutti passed all required background checks and received positive professional references from previous employers, and said they had no knowledge of his alleged conduct that led to the charges against him.
“We recognize how troubling this information is, and we share your concern. Klein ISD takes criminal charges involving student safety extremely seriously, and when information comes to our attention that raises concerns about an employee remaining in a position of trust with our students, we act swiftly and decisively.”
Tomball ISD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
