As missile strikes continue across countries in the Middle East, residents and visitors have been urged to register with their country’s local embassy.
Following the launch of an Israeli and US attack on Iran on Saturday 28 February, retaliatory strikes against military bases in countries including Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia has seen airspace closures across the region.
While these countries are working to intercept missiles, falling shrapnel has caused damage and injuries. Abu Dhabi Airports has confirmed that one person has died after the interception of a drone at Zayed International Airport.
Embassies are urging anyone in affected countries to follow instructions from local authorities, which include sheltering in place and avoiding travel.
Residents are also being told to register with the embassy to receive updates and, if necessary, so that they can provide assistance.
