She’s on the prowl.
65-year-old Lesley Maxwell is proof that age is really just a number, considering she’s single and ready to mingle — only with younger men.
There’s no denying that Maxwell looks incredible for her age, so much so that strangers often think she and her 21-year-old granddaughter, Tia, are sisters.
Because of that, she has a certain type of man that she is attracted to — a young, fit stud, who’s between 20 and 40 years old.
The fitness fanatic and personal trainer is aware of her age, but she told What’s The Jam that she’s not slowing down anytime soon and usually men in her age group are “lazy and predictable.”
And who wants to date that?
“Younger men in their twenties? They’ve got energy, spontaneity, and they love a woman who knows what she wants,” Maxwell said.
“The younger ones actually match my pace both in and out of the gym.”
In addition to that, Maxwell appreciates the lightheartedness of most young guys, since they’ve had, well, less life experience compared to men 40 years their senior.
“Some of the more mature men who talk to me are often burdened by life and problems,” yet the 65-year-old describes the younger lads as being “more energetic and usually more positive.”
Overall, if you’re an eligible bachelor who wants to catch Maxwell’s attention — confidence and an interest in fitness are at the top of her list.
“A man who’s confident enough to approach me is a good start, a healthy body so they can keep up with me and a sense of humor, of course,” she told What’s The Jam.
You can’t forget about chemistry, too, because if the personal trainer is lacking that with someone, they’re getting a buh-bye from her.
“I once dated a successful real estate agent and realised that although he was a gentleman, there wasn’t any chemistry between us,” she revealed.
“So I used my ‘three-day cooling-off period’ as a reason to end it with him.”
Maxwell isn’t the only woman at her age who is interested in younger guys.
After going through a divorce, a woman named Anne, from Melbourne, met a younger guy while out on the town with a girlfriends one night.
“I was just being friendly to this guy, and we were getting on well. My girlfriends said he was hitting on me big time, but I thought he was just being friendly,” Anne told news.com.au ahead of her appearance on SBS’s “Insight’s Taboo Relationships” episode.
“I could be walking down the street and see a man and a younger woman and no one would flinch — but I was once walking down the street with a younger guy and was booed,” she said.
“It was so judgmental.”
