Helen Mirren is giving flowers to a woman that means a great deal to her.

“One of my Women of Worth is actually another L’Oréal ambassador, and that’s Jane Fonda,” Mirren, 80, exclusively told Us Weekly at the L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth Celebration on December 2 in Los Angeles. “I’ve always thought [about] what an absolute remarkable life she’s had and with [an] incredible expanse of different things. Always constantly with energy, commitment, [courage], radical, controversial but, always committed to life. She’s definitely one of my Women of Worth.”

L’Oréal Paris celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Women of Worth program with an all-star event at the Academy Museum of Motion Picture. This year’s event recognized 10 Women of Worth honorees and spotlighted the two decades of female innovators and leaders from around the country.

The 2025 honorees included: Yasmine Arrington Brooks, Amy Bowers Cordalis, Mizpah Brown-Rich, Keely Cat-Wells, Sloane Davidson, Lynne B Hughes, Anita Ravi, Cristina Rodriguez, Gloria Umanah and Olivia Zhang.

Other notable L’Oréal Paris global ambassadors in attendance were Andie MacDowell, Kendall Jenner, Aja Naomi King, Gillian Anderson, Ariana Greenblatt and Heidi Klum.

Mirren, whose career spans over six decades, candidly admitted to Us that even she lacks confidence, but relies on a popular psychological technique to help her through.

“I don’t have confidence. I have absolutely no confidence whatsoever. But I pretend I do,” Mirren told Us. “It’s always been that way. It’s just a big act.”

“Acting works. Pretending works. Fake it till you make it, a very, very true phrase,” she continued.

Mirren is slated to star in Kate Winslet’s directorial debut, Goodbye June, which releases in select theaters on Friday, December 12, and streams on Netflix starting Christmas Eve. The Christmas drama was written by Winslet’s and director Sam Mendes’ son, Joe Anders, and stars the Titanic actress, 50, Toni Collette, Andrea Riseborough and Johnny Flynn as the four estranged adult children of Mirren’s June, who has terminal cancer.

The siblings must confront their past issues and grievances with one another to be there for their ailing mother in her final moments.

Winslet and Anders, 21, attended the December 3 red carpet premiere of Goodbye June in London.

“Joe had written a script on a screenwriting course that he was fortunate enough to be accepted onto,” Winslet told Hello! Magazine at the screening. “At the end of the course, he said to me, ‘I’ve written this thing, and you know it’s probably [explicit], but would you read it?’ I read it, and I realized it was very much not [explicit] and could definitely be a film.”

Winslet quickly realized that she would be interested in directing the film, which would be her first time doing so.

“I found myself in a moment of realization, having spent so much of my life advocating and trying to elevate other women in male-dominated spaces,” she said to Hello! Magazine. “I did have a moment of thinking, ‘Well, who am I really if I’m not actually doing that thing to try and change the culture?’ So in my 50s, I did it!”
