Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin amended his divorce filing against estranged wife Victoria Goodwin, accusing her of negligence, false imprisonment and more bombshell claims — in the days after she was arrested for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill him and plotting his death with the help of a convicted murderer serving a life sentence for massacring his family.
In Aaron’s petition filed on Wednesday, March 19, and obtained exclusively by Us Weekly, the TV star, 48, is seeking punitive and exemplary damages totaling more than $10,000 after Victoria, 32, was allegedly negligent in her marital actions.
“[Victoria’s] conduct was extreme or outrageous with either the intention of or reckless disregard for, causing emotional distress to [Aaron],” the reality TV star’s court filing reads. “[He] suffered severe or extreme emotional distress as the actual or proximate result of [her] conduct.”
Without detailing specifics, Aaron also accused Victoria of assault and false imprisonment and claimed that she made him “feel apprehension of harmful or offensive behavior.”
According to Aaron, Victoria had reportedly intended to “confine [him] within boundaries” that she set.
“[Victoria’s] act directly or resulted in such a confinement,” the filing further claims. “[Aaron] was conscious of the confinement or was harmed by it.”
Aaron also requested that the court grant a divorce because Victoria reportedly committed a “concert of actions,” which is defined in the motion as acting “with another … to commit a tort while acting in concert or pursuant to a common design.”
Aaron initially filed for divorce on March 12, requesting to maintain his separate property and have their community assets divided equally.
Six days earlier, Victoria was arrested on charges of soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder and held on $100,000 bail. According to police records obtained by Us, Victoria had been communicating with infamous convicted killer Grant Amato, who’s serving a life sentence in a Florida prison for the murders of his parents and brother. Amato massacred his family after an argument over his obsession with a webcam model, which had caused turmoil in the family for months — which was made into the docuseries Ctrl + Alt + Desire. After watching the series in March 2024, Victoria allegedly started a pen pal relationship with the killer and then began texting him about wanting to leave her marriage and to “end [Aaron’s] existence” instead of filing for divorce.
Victoria and Grant also exchanged messages discussing “how much they are in love,” according to records.
Victoria, who married Aaron in 2020, allegedly admitted that she and her then-husband were struggling in their marriage via police interrogation. At the time, Victoria claimed that the funds she transferred to the inmate were meant to be used for cell phones.
Victoria has not publicly addressed any of Aaron’s claims or his divorce filing. Us has reached out for comment. In addition to seeking more than $10,000 in financial damages, Aaron also requested any additional awards to cover his “attorney’s fees and costs of suit incurred,” as well as any additional relief that the court “may deem just and proper.”
Aaron, according to a source, also had not spoken about any marital strife to his Ghost Adventures costars Zak Bagans, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley.
“The rest of the cast was shocked by the news. No one knew anything was wrong in their relationship,” a source exclusively told Us earlier this month. “Everyone who works on the show can’t believe this is happening. They are all currently in a state of shock.”
According to the insider, Aaron’s costars are “trying to be supportive of Aaron by reaching out and offering to help in any way they can.”
