Yes, Frank Grillo is down to reprise his role as Alvey Kulina for another season of Kingdom.

“[Executive producer] Byron Balasco and [actor] Jonathan Tucker and I were just on a three-way [call],” Grillo, 60, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Tulsa King season 3 red carpet on Tuesday, September 16. “We were trying to figure out how we could possibly — I’m not kidding — put it together.”

The trio are looking to “come up with some ideas” and “get the band back together” to “see if we could finish an eight-episode run,” Grillo teased. “We actually talked about that.”

Grillo played the role of retired MMA fighter Alvey for three seasons from 2014 to 2017 alongside Tucker, who played Jay Kulina, and Nick Jonas, who played Nate Kulina. Kiele Sanchez and Matt Lauria rounded out the series’ main cast.

The actor has since gone on to appear in both the Marvel and DC Comics franchises, currently starring as Rick Flag Sr. on HBO’s Peacemaker. Grillo is also gearing up to reprise his role as Kansas City gangster Bill Bevilaqua alongside Sylvester Stallone in Paramount+’s Tulsa King.

“The character isn’t quite Alvey, [who] was my skin. Alvey was me, if I went a little too far. This isn’t this guy’s not me,” Grillo explained to Us. “This is a Midwestern, he’s a little hick-ish. They make fun of him in the show all the time, like ‘Nobody’s paying attention to them.’ It’s interesting to play that dynamic with Sly.”

Grillo made his debut as Bevilaqua during the show’s second season last year after getting a call from Stallone to join the cast.

“He called me and asked me if I would be interested in doing this. It wasn’t like me chasing the role on this particular thing, it was getting a call from the big guy,” the actor shared. “You, kind of, take a breath and [think], ‘Oh, he wants me there. I want to be there.’”

For the third season, Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi and Grillo’s Bevilaqua somewhat set aside their differences for a partnership between Kansas City and Tulsa. However, Grillo almost didn’t make it past the season 2 finale.

“I was supposed to die that second season and it didn’t go that way,” he told Us before teasing an upcoming story line. “I don’t know what happened, but you know, somebody else died. I may have had that same X on my back in the third season.”
