As the world’s finest Grand Slammers face off at the US Open this year, with the likes of players Carlos Alcaraz and Alex Zverev securing nail-biting wins, New York City singles are flocking to the Arthur Ashe Stadium in hopes of catching the action — and netting a romantic catch.
Love, much like those little fluorescent yellow balls that fly around tennis courts, can land anywhere.
So sports fans on the prowl are spending anywhere between $23 and $739 for admission into the three-week championship series, happening now through September 13, where hotties and hobbyists abound.
Making the trek to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park for the fête is costly, yet worthwhile for folks ready to ditch dismal dating apps and finally find the one.
Local lover girls, like Dee Vel-Baque, 33, kicked their searches for significant others into high gear at the 2026 FIFA World Cup games this summer. Alyssa Rosello, a Manhattan single, is hoping The Open serves up similar success.
“It’ll be great to meet someone when I go to a match next week. Sports are a great way to meet people, especially as a girl,” the 5-foot-10 brunette, a product manager, told The Post.
While the lifelong tennis enthusiast plans to have her head in the game as the professional athletes duke it out, she’ll have her eye on the crowd, scoping the scene for a tall, dark and handsome hunk who shares her passion for the pastime.
“To find someone attractive, kind and funny that also loves watching and playing tennis would be amazing,” said Rosello, who’s open to meeting Mr. Right on platforms such as Hinge and Raya, but optimistic for an in-person meet-cute.
“We can watch and play tennis together. One of my dreams is to go to Wimbledon and the French Open,” she gushed. “It’d be so fun to travel with someone that is also interested in that. Having a common interest is super important.”
Sharing a love of sports, specifically tennis, isn’t just super important in today’s dating world. It’s also a major thread that’s stitching lonely hearts together, per surprising new data.
Researchers for Feeld, a dating app for open-minded individuals, recently determined that tennis buffs generate roughly 45% more meaningful connections than fans of other major sports.
More titillating, the findings also revealed higher rates in kink-forward desires, such as role play, edging, exploration and domination, in rascals with a fondness for the rackets.
But Justin Lehmiller, a social psychologist and Kinsey Institute fellow, assured The Post that tennis isn’t some tawdry aphrodisiac.
Instead, it’s an intellectual stimulant that keeps sharp-wits on their toes — and, if they’re lucky and consenting, their backs.
“Tennis, itself, isn’t necessarily making people kinkier…[but] those who are interested in tennis over-index on intellectual games like backgammon and chess,” explained Lehmiller, an Intimacy Advisor at Feeld, noting statistics from the study.
“That suggests that we might be looking at a group of people who are particularly drawn to mental stimulation, strategy and maybe even a little friendly competition,” he said. “When you’re really into a given sport, that tends to create a lot of emotion and excitement.“
“If you’re watching that sport with someone else who has that same level of engagement, it can lead to an intense and memorable experience.”
Katie, a confidence coach based in Chelsea, agrees.
The Gothamite, 27, who chose to withhold her last name for privacy, issued a friendly call-to-action to the single ladies of NYC in a viral vid, beckoning gals to the US Open stands for the optimal chance to snag a man.
“There’s such beauty in meeting [a potential partner] out in the wild, especially at an event like The Open. People are like showing up, they’re looking cute, excited, drinking a Honey Deuce — it makes people more open to connecting,” said Katie, who’s currently off-the-market, but always on the lookout for her unattached pals.

She even spotted a suitable suitor for her best friend during Wednesday’s daytime sessions, when the likes of Jessica Pegula, Ben Shelton and Daniil Medvedev each secured victories.
Unfortunately, Katie wasn’t able to close a deal on the romantic match.
“I saw a lot of groups of guys letting loose and having fun,” she said. “But the guy that would have been great for my friend wasn’t single.”
But the wannabe Cupid isn’t giving up hope.
“Right now, people are craving that like in-real-life excitement that comes with making face-to-face connections,” said Katie. “And what better place to chat, laugh and high-five over something cool, like Ben Shelton winning, than the US Open?”
“You don’t get that on an app.”
