It’s been eight years but the bond between Teen Wolf’s Stiles and Scott remains strong.

Dylan O’Brien and Tyler Posey, who starred as Stiles Stilinski and Scott McCall in the MTV series, shared a warm and lengthy embrace at the Los Angeles premiere of Twinless on Tuesday, September 2.

Filmed by The Hollywood Reporter and shared via X that evening, the red carpet hug shifted into an animated conversation between Posey, 33, and O’Brien, 34, who stars in Twinless which is scheduled for release on Friday, September 5.

As the pair caught up, Posey kept an affectionate arm on O’Brien’s shoulder. At one stage, the two men burst into laughter together as Posey extended both arms out to hold both of O’Brien’s shoulders.

The duo shared a second hug as they proceeded to move along the red carpet but their engrossing conversation kept them chatting a little longer. The clip cut out as they continue talking.

Teen Wolf, a supernatural TV series that charted a high school student’s evolution into a werewolf, aired on MTV from 2011 to 2017. The relationship between O’Brien’s Stiles and Posey’s Scott served as the show’s central friendship, with fans of the series captivated by the pair’s natural onscreen chemistry.

While the actors also shared a close offscreen friendship when they filmed the show, Posey revealed in October 2023 that O’Brien did not attend his wedding to singer Phem that year. In an interview with The New York Post at the time, Posey was asked whether O’Brien and fellow costar Dylan Sprayberry made it to his nuptials. “No Dylans. They were both busy,” Posey told the outlet. “They were both invited, but they were busy.”

Posey did note at the time that other Teen Wolf costars did manage to make the Malibu wedding including Colton Haynes, Khylin Rhambo, Tyle Hoechlin and JR Bourne.

Posey told the outlet, “It was just so exciting to share that with them. I love [the Teen Wolf cast]. I always have and I always will. They were hanging with me all night and partying and dancing. And it was just such a fun experience and it just meant a lot that whoever did show up was there.”

O’Brien was also a no-show in the cast of Teen Wolf: The Movie, released in January 2023, despite many of the original cast returning for the big-screen adaptation. Posey said during an interview with E! News that year that despite O’Brien not taking part in the project, he was still very fond of him.

“I love Dylan so much and we talked about it a lot before we actually got started,” Posey told the outlet. “To me, he was always there. He would text me and ask how the day went, how was the first day of filming.”

Posey continued at the time, “There’s no love lost. I love him so much and he helped really shape Teen Wolf, just his energy alone.”
