Dmitry Mazentsev got a pizza’ bad luck when his promised deal to get free Domino’s pizza for life — after tattooing the company’s iconic logo on his body — fell through recently.

Mazentsev was one of 350 winners for the top pizza chain’s 2018 “Domino’s Fever” competition, which promised 100 free pizza vouchers per year for 100 years for those who were willing to get a 2-centimeter tattoo of their logo on their bodies.

However, the Moscow man — who got the tattoo on his ankle — only got to enjoy his complimentary slices of the 11-inch pizzas for five years when his supply was cut off in 2023 due to Russia invading Ukraine, effectively revoking Domino’s license in the country, the Daily Mail reported.

Domino’s announcement that the offer was no longer valid was posted on Russian social media network VKontakte, with a note that the pizza chain would provide funding to remove the tattoos, The Sun reported.

Although Mazentsev admitted he “got sick of pizza” after a while, he decided to take Domino’s to court on a “matter of principle” for the company to keep its promises, as he told Moskva FM in 2023. His demands included that he still receive 100 pizzas until the year 2118, along with compensation for “moral damages.”

Mazentsev lost the cheesy fight when Moscow’s Meshchansky District Court disagreed and ruled against his claim.

Domino’s remaining 120 Russian establishments have since been taken over by restaurateur and rapper Anton Pinskiy, who once sang, “My best friend is President Putin.”

The competition seemed cursed with bad luck from the start, as Domino’s first caught flak from fans who got the tattoos before being told the contest had been shut down after just one week due to the overwhelming response. No time or participant limit was initially announced.

“Friends, we already have 350 participants! We are not receiving any new tattoos!” the chain posted on Facebook in 2018.
